🌍 World Environment Day 🌿

Today is a reminder that caring for our environment and caring for our mental health often go hand in hand.

Nature has a unique way of helping us slow down, breathe more deeply, and reconnect with ourselves. Whether it's a walk in the park, sitting in the garden with a cup of tea, or simply noticing the world around us, these small moments can help reduce stress and improve wellbeing.

At Phoenix Talk Therapy, we believe that growth and healing can come from taking time to pause, reflect, and connect—with ourselves, others, and the world around us.

Just as nature recovers, adapts, and flourishes, so can we.

🌱 This World Environment Day, why not take 10 minutes for yourself outdoors and notice how you feel?

What helps you feel connected to nature?

The unglamorous side of being self-employed… ✨

Today has been spent finishing the accounts (finally 😅), sending everything over to the accountant, updating clinical notes, and working hard behind the scenes on making my website more user-friendly and accessible. I’m also setting things up so I can start blogging and connecting with people more regularly outside of the therapy room.

It’s easy to only see the polished side of running a business, but there’s so much work that happens quietly in the background. The admin, the planning, the late nights, the constant learning and adapting.

And actually, it reminds me a lot of mental health. It’s rarely one huge thing that changes everything overnight — it’s the small things we do consistently that build the bigger picture.

Going for a walk.
Making a cup of tea.
Sitting quietly for five minutes.
Stroking your dog.
Replying to that message.
Getting through the day.

The little things matter more than we realise 💛

💚 As Mental Health Awareness Week comes to an end, this message remains important all year round:

You are not alone.

There is support.
There is hope.
And there are people who genuinely care.

Talking can feel scary, but it can also be the beginning of healing.

Thank you for following along with us this week. Please keep checking in on yourselves and each other. 🌿

From all of us at Phoenix Talk Therapy 💚

💚 This week has honestly been one of the best weeks yet.

It’s been busy.
It’s been long.

But since starting my counselling journey, this has probably been the busiest week I’ve had — and I’m incredibly grateful for it. 🌿

I’ve had the privilege of meeting so many lovely new clients from all different walks of life, each with their own stories, struggles, strengths, and goals. From general anxiety to more complex needs, every single person has reminded me why I do what I do.

One of the things I love most about counselling is continuing to learn. Being able to go away, research, reflect, and make sure I’m offering the best possible support to help clients become the healthiest, strongest version of themselves. 💚

I genuinely love my job.

Helping people heal, grow, and feel heard is something I’ll never take for granted.

What about you?

What’s one thing you love about what you do? 🌱

🌟 Got out of bed?
That counts.

Made a phone call you were avoiding?
That counts.

Took the dog for a walk?
That counts too. 🐾

Healing is not always loud or dramatic.
Sometimes it’s tiny steps repeated daily.

Celebrate your small wins today. They matter more than you think. 💚

🚧 Boundaries are not rude.
They are healthy.

You are allowed to say:
• “I need some time.”
• “I can’t take that on right now.”
• “No.”

Protecting your peace does not make you selfish.
It makes you emotionally responsible. 💚

Small boundary. Big difference.

🌿 Feeling overwhelmed? Try this simple grounding exercise:

The 5-4-3-2-1 Method 👇

5 things you can see
4 things you can touch
3 things you can hear
2 things you can smell
1 thing you can taste

This can help bring your mind back to the present moment when anxiety feels too loud.

Save this post for later or share it with someone who may need it today. 💚

Some days you thrive.
Some days you survive.

Both count. 🌱

Social media often shows the polished version of life, but behind closed doors many people are battling anxiety, stress, grief, burnout, loneliness, or depression.

If today feels hard, please remember:
You are not weak.
You are human.

Be gentle with yourself today. 💚

🫶 When was the last time you checked in with you?

Not your work.
Not your responsibilities.
Not everyone else.

You.

Today, ask yourself:
• How am I really feeling?
• What do I need today?
• What am I carrying that feels heavy?

Self-awareness is not selfish — it’s necessary. 💚

🌿 Mental Health Awareness Week is here.
A gentle reminder that your mental health matters just as much as your physical health.

You do not have to be in crisis to ask for support.
You do not have to “keep going” alone.
And you are absolutely allowed to rest.

This week, we’ll be sharing small reminders, coping tips, and encouragement for anyone who may be struggling quietly. 💚

At Phoenix Talk Therapy we believe healing starts with conversation, compassion, and feeling heard.
