💉 Why is aftercare so important after filler treatment?

Dermal filler doesn’t instantly “set” the moment it’s injected. In the days following treatment, the product integrates with your tissues while swelling and inflammation gradually settle.

During this time, excessive heat, intense exercise, alcohol and unnecessary pressure to the treated area can increase swelling, bruising and discomfort.

Whilst aftercare cannot guarantee a particular result, it helps support the healing process and gives your body the best environment to recover following treatment.

As medical professionals, we don’t provide aftercare advice simply as a precaution—it’s based on our understanding of how the body responds to treatment and healing.

The treatment itself is only one part of the process. Following your aftercare advice is an important step in achieving the best possible outcome.

M-shape lips are one of the harder lip types to treat because the natural anatomy is already very defined — especially through the cupid’s bow and central tubercles. 💉

Too much filler, or placing product in the wrong area, can:
• flatten the M shape
• make the lips look heavy or overfilled
• distort the side profile
• create migration more easily

The goal isn’t to completely change the shape, it’s to work with the anatomy whilst maintaining balance, structure and softness. That’s why precision, product choice and injection technique are so important with M-shape lips ✨
