At 13 years old Jessie is doing amazingly well, she will never be skeletal 'correct' but working alongside her fantastic guardians and veterinary team - Jessie lives a happy and fulfilling life 💓

I am so proud of Jessie and the advocating her guardians do for her 🐾💓

Canine conditioning allows Jessie's body to maintain muscle mass as well as stretching, flexibility and mobility all important for our older dogs.

Such a happy face and a dedicated guardian to help this girl move freely and enjoy life to the fullest.

Canine conditioning is great fun and I know I am bias 😅🥰😁

Builds up commitment and more bonding between animal and guardian, as they learn together to achieve the exercises.

Canine and feline conditioning is a range of exercises and activities designed to improve a dog’s/cat’s physical fitness, strength, balance, coordination, and body awareness.

Think Pilates for humans but each session tailored to the dog’s/cat’s anatomy and biomechanical needs. It’s used both for performance enhancement in working/sport dogs and for preventive or rehabilitative care in companion dogs/cats.

2 years ago scared to go through doorways/thresholds - to donating blood with the AMAZING TEAM!
Shady is one of our rescue golden retrievers 🥰❤

I love being a volunteer for Pet Blood Bank UK and feel so proud that one of the goldies can donate blood ❤

🔥Ember🔥

My 5 year old ex-feral farm cat that was found in a car engine after 2 days on the road! 🚗😨

It took a long time to build up trust and a relationship with Ember. All on her terms and pace - we never rush things, lots of positive associations as well as rewards.

Ember is clicker trained and came to me this evening to have a Feline Conditioning session. 💪🦵
And yes the goldies were behind me wanted the treats! 😋
This does not phase Ember 😆😅

Really proud of her front feet on, and then hind limb push up - Sit squart - great for building hindquarter muscles and as she loves to jump, we want to keep those moments smooth and controlled.

For my Feline client, we do home visits for physiotherapy as well as online video Conditioning sessions to minimise stress 💓

It is so important to keep an eye on our cats health, how much do they weigh, quality of food as well as change to behaviour and movement.
Cats are stotic animals that will not show discomfort, it is important as guardians and caregivers to keep a close on them. 🥰

💙Jack💙

Has had all 4 of his Cartophen injection 💉 🤩

He loves going into the vets - he does have to hold a toy to help him with regulation- he will bark in excitement, because why is everyone not saying hello to me 🤪

Jack was diagnosed with bilateral hip dysplasia following X-rays. Hip dysplasia is a developmental condition affecting the hip joints, where the ball and socket don't fit together as they should. Over time this can lead to inflammation, pain and osteoarthritis. For Jack we noticed his gait was off and how he was sitting was not correct as well as flare ups - not good at 2 years old.

Jack is doing well and we have chosen to be proactive rather than reactive with a multimodal approach to care - looking at starting hydrotherapy and PRP.

Alongside his regular Physiotherapy and Canine Conditioning sessions, he has now finished a course of Cartrophen injections to his management plan.

Cartrophen works differently to pain relief medications – it aims to support joint health, improve joint fluid, reduce inflammation and help protect the cartilage within the joint.
After the initial course, many dogs only require maintenance treatment every around 6 months, although every dog is different and your vet will advise what's appropriate for your dogs individual needs.

There is not a single magic fix for hip dysplasia. For Jack, it's about combining several evidence-based approaches to help keep him comfortable, strong and active for as long as possible. 💪🦵💜

Prevention and early management are often far more effective than waiting until a dog is struggling.

Home adaptations as well to help prevent slipping and sliding, as well as weight management all help.

Please do speak to your vet from more information on how to help manage pain or joint issues your animal maybe having.
