An amazing afternoon of music and singing from the lovely Ian from Music in Mind.

Ian has visited all units today playing residents their favourite songs, learning some new ones, singing Happy Birthday to one of our lovely gentlemen on Matisse and introducing himself to our new resident on Renoir.

So much enjoyment today from our lovely residents, lots of singing, dancing, clapping and the odd bit of whistling.

A very big Congratulations to one of our lovely men on Renoir and his wife who are celebrating their 38th Wedding Anniversary today.

Viv his lovely wife visited today and a card and flowers were waiting on her arrival.

Many Happy Returns to the lovely couple from everyone at Gainsborough House.

A visit from the lovely Kay from Earth Sounds Music Therapy to start off our Musical Wednesday.

Residents descended onto the quiet lounge on Matisse, blowing away the bad weather blues with their drum and tambourine playing.

Music therapy is so good for mental wellbeing aswell as helping people to socialise with others.

Plus, a lovely visit from our lively domestic Dylan, who never turns down an opportunity to get involved, brought the term ‘Whole Home’ approach to life once again.

Starting the month off on a creative footing this morning with the lovely Jane from Creative Mojo.

This morning's theme was ‘Afternoon Tea’ which involved lots of colourful cupcakes, teapots and cups.

Residents really enjoyed painting and chatting, singing along to Disney songs picked by our crafty lady from the Complex Care unit.

Happy New Month and New Week here at Gainsborough House.

Tuesday we have the lovely Jane from Creative Mojo as part of our Art Therapy.

Wednesday is our Usual Music Therapy Day with visits from Kay from Earth Sounds and Ian from Music in Mind, always a lovely musical filled day.

Thursday Reverend Samson will be with us performing his church service on Renoir at 11am for anyone who wishes to attend.
Then in the afternoon its a Pamper Afternoon with Our Wellbeing Lead Julie

Friday and Saturday will be activities led by our Wellbeing Lead Julie, complete with games, newspapers, chats and a Movie Day on Saturday.

Wow what an amazing rootin tootin afternoon it was at Gainsborough House!!!

Wonderful performance from western duo, Just The Two of Us! You could hear their amazing music all over the building. Even relatives got up to do a spot of line dancing.

Delilah the Wellness Pony was an instant hit with everyone, residents and relatives with her shiny pink shoes! She visited all over the home, even those in their bedrooms. She loves a good party and came prepared with her cowboy hat!

Such a wonderful afternoon, everyone had lots of fun. The raffle for the hamper will be drawn next week. A very big thank you to all those who donated Tombola prizes.

Today at Gainsborough we celebrated International Dog Day!

All things Pooch! Puzzles! Colouring! Wordsearches! Plushes to cuddle! Costumes! And Minnie the Therapy dog brought in by Phil our Dementia Specialist.

A lovely day celebrating everything about dogs, chats, laughing and a spot of dancing from our lively Domestic Assistant Dylan.

We've had a woofly day here at Gainsborough House!

To round off a very busy day at Gainsborough House we had the lovely Ian from Music in Mind.

Ian visited all floors today with his trusty guitar and Ukelele entertaining the residents with his songs, a little bit of George Formby, some Irish melodies and a spot of what do we do with a drunken sailor!

Ian is so good at engaging our residents in a group or individuals in a 1-1 setting especially our crafty lady in Complex Care who's Ukelele lessons are coming along a treat.
