🩷 Myth or Fact?

❌ Myth: You should stop breastfeeding if you have mastitis.

In most cases, it’s actually recommended to continue breastfeeding or expressing milk while receiving appropriate treatment if needed. Emptying the breast can help relieve symptoms and support recovery.

Mastitis is an inflammation of the breast that can sometimes be associated with an infection. Many parents worry that breastfeeding could harm their baby, but in most cases it remains safe to continue feeding.

If you think you may have mastitis, it’s important to seek advice from your healthcare professional promptly, particularly if you have a high temperature, flu-like symptoms or your symptoms aren’t improving.

There are so many breastfeeding myths circulating online and through well-meaning advice. Throughout World Breastfeeding Week, I’ll be sharing evidence-informed facts to help separate myth from reality and support parents to make informed choices with confidence.

Have you ever heard this myth before? 💚

Starting solids doesn’t have to feel confusing... and you don’t have to figure it out on your own. 🌱

Whether you’re just starting to think about introducing solids or you’ve already begun your baby’s weaning journey and still have questions, this workshop is designed for you.

There is so much conflicting advice online that it’s easy to wonder whether you’re doing the right thing.

The good news?

There isn’t one right way.

Every baby is different. Every family is different. My aim is to help you understand the options, make informed decisions and feel confident choosing the approach that feels right for your baby.

Whether you’re:
😕 Feeling confused by conflicting advice
🤔 Unsure when to begin
🥕 Trying to decide between purées and baby-led weaning
🤱 Wondering how milk feeds change once solids start
😴 Not sure what happens if your baby skips a meal
🍯 Unsure which foods are safe (and which aren’t!)
..this workshop is here to answer your questions and help you approach this exciting milestone with confidence.

Together we’ll explore:
🌸 Signs your baby is ready for solids
🌸 Baby-led weaning, spoon feeding and purées
🌸 First foods and meal inspiration
🌸 Milk feeds before and after 6 months
🌸 Choking vs gagging
🌸 Allergens and food safety
🌸 Snacks, textures and equipment
🌸 Responsive feeding and building a positive relationship with food from the very beginning

Because starting solids isn’t just about introducing food.…

It’s about helping your baby develop confidence around eating, creating positive, enjoyable mealtimes, and taking the pressure off you as a parent.

You’ll leave feeling prepared, informed and reassured, with practical take-home resources and ongoing support after the workshop.

💚 Know someone who’s planning to introduce solids? Save this post for later and share it with a friend or family member who might find it helpful.

Are you expecting a baby this Autumn/Winter?

There are so many things to buy before your baby arrives.
But one of the most valuable things you can give yourself... is time.

Time to slow down.
Time to breathe.
Time to connect with your baby.
Time to prepare your body and mind for birth.

Preparing for birth isn’t just about learning what to expect. It’s about taking time to care for yourself before your baby arrives.

Active Antenatal is that space each week.

A gentle class where you’ll move your body safely, learn practical tools for labour, relax deeply, meet other mums, and leave feeling more prepared for the weeks ahead..

It’s not about being the fittest person in the room.
It’s not about getting everything perfect.
It’s simply about investing in yourself before you become someone’s whole world.

🌸 Six weeks
🤍 One evening each week.
✨ A calmer, more confident start to your journey into motherhood.

I’d love to support you.
