Self-care is not a luxury,
it is essential, a necessity.

We give so much to others,
family, friends, the world,
and in doing so, we sometimes forget ourselves.

Simple acts, listening to silence,
noticing the rhythm of your breath,
a sip of warm tea,
can renew your energy,
restore your clarity,
and soften the way you move through the world.

Caring for yourself is not selfish;
it is an act of respect,
a quiet foundation for resilience,
and a way to show up fully in your own life
and the lives of others.

So:
Pause.
Breathe.
Rest.
Restore.

And remember,
slowing down is a gift to yourself,
a gift only you can give.

Inspiring Words πŸ’›βœ¨πŸ’›

Trust that the Universe is guiding you on the right path.

Believe that you are looked after by Spirit, always.

All of your experiences are in your control.

Ask for something and watch it appear.

Just keep your eyes open to the synchronicities.

And pay attention to the lessons unfolding before you.

5 things your horse will always remember!

Horses have an exceptional level of awareness, which means that they can understand situations much more deeply than other animals. They are so attentive that they can pick up others emotions through body language, voice, or just the general vibe you put off. This type of awareness can lead to much more intense experiences for horses.

Here are some experiences your horse will always remember!

1️⃣. 𝐏π₯𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐬

Horses have a near-photographic memory, which means they can remember places very clearly. This can be positive or negative, depending on their experience at a specific place. Imagine your horse witnessing a very traumatic event. It's very likely that he will never forget the place or event and move away from that area. If your horse seems hesitant to go anywhere, listen to him, comfort him and trust him, he knows what he's doing!

2️⃣. 𝐏𝐞𝐨𝐩π₯𝐞

Since horses have an almost photographic memory, it's no surprise that they remember people by their faces. Show them a picture of someone they know and they will surely react. Horses can even recognise people after years of separation! But their memory goes far beyond our general appearance. Horses can read our facial expressions and remember them for later as well.

As part of studies, horses were shown photos of people with happy or sad expressions. After meeting these people in person (with neutral expressions), the horses reacted based on the original expression they had memorised in the photos. If you meet a horse for the first time, then you have to make a very good impression!

3️⃣. 𝐄𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐒𝐨𝐧𝐬

Besides places and people, horses have an innate ability to recognise human emotions. Horses have a tendency to perceive body language, even the most subtle, which helps them determine a person’s feelings. If we feel stressed, sad or angry, our physical appearance tends to reflect that. Same goes when we feel happy or excited! Horses don't just know how to read emotions, they also remember a person based on the last emotion they felt during their last interaction. This is a useful strategy for horses to avoid any possible aggressive encounters.

4️⃣. π“π‘πž 𝐨𝐭𝐑𝐞𝐫 π‡π¨π«π¬πžπ¬

Humans aren't the only ones who can leave an indelible imprint on a horse! Horses can remember and recognise other horses from their social network. Whether it takes a few years or decades, one horse will never forget its relationship with another. Doesn't mean that they will be associated with each other if they are ever together. One horse will only react to another if the bond they had was particularly strong. If he recognises a horse from a previous encounter, he can treat it differently from others.

Other important bonds between horses, such as the one that unites a mare and her foal, are said to last a lifetime. As horses also remember smells, it can help a mare recognise her baby, even years after separation.

5️⃣. π“π‘πž 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐬

Horses are able to understand words much deeper than we thought, but not in the traditional sense we give words. They understand words by tone, height and length of voice. Words with less syllables tend to stick better to horses. They can tell when someone is insulting them and when someone's complimenting them. Don't underestimate their intelligence, because chances are they are listening very carefully to every word you speak.

Horses are incredibly gifted animals, and should be treated as such! Having an idea of the memories horses hold with them forever will allow you to understand and communicate with them even more deeply. Whatever the experience, good or bad, you can be sure your horse has felt it all the way. Do your best to give them a good memory, and they will surely do the same.

Perhaps we could redefine our idea of time

I don't believe you can waste time
by resting
talking to a friend
walking in nature
or reading a book

you can't waste time by connecting
letting souls talk
allowing inner children out to play
or making stories to pass down

you can't waste time by helping
or doing anything at all that feeds your soul
and energises your weary bones

that's exactly what time is for
in fact, everything else
is just a tick on a list

just a tick
on a never-ending list.
