When a Child is Dysregulated, They Need Our Calm

To help a child with ADHD regulate their emotions, we first need to regulate our own.

🌱 Children with ADHD often experience big emotions, overwhelm, impulsivity, and frustration.

When we feel stressed, reactive, or emotionally flooded ourselves, it can be difficult to provide the calm, consistent support they need.

Your nervous system influences theirs.

A regulated adult helps create safety, connection, and emotional balance for a child.

🌟ADHD Workshop – Limited Spaces Available

At In a Healing Counselling, I am considering running a small ADHD workshop with just 5 places available.

This workshop is designed to help you gain a deeper understanding of ADHD through real-life experiences, practical insights, and a greater awareness of the challenges people with ADHD can face. It is ideal for parents, counsellors, therapists, helping professionals, and anyone interested in learning more about ADHD.

You will also have the opportunity to claim CPD hours and receive a certificate of completion.

The location is in Birchwood Warrington, there is also free parking for guests.

This is your inner-healing counselling space 🍃

Imagine this room as steady and gentle—nothing flashy, nothing performative. Just warmth. There’s a chair that fits you exactly as you are today. No clipboards raised like shields. No ticking clock rushing you. I’m here, grounded, human, and fully listening.

In this space:
• Nothing you say is stupid, dramatic, silly, or too much.
• You don’t have to be articulate, healed, positive, or “make sense.”
• You’re allowed to contradict yourself, ramble, pause, cry, joke, or go quiet.
• How you see the world matters—even if you’ve never said it out loud before.

I’ll meet you where you are, not where you “should” be.
If something feels heavy, we’ll hold it together.
If something feels confusing, we’ll be curious instead of critical.
If something feels small but keeps coming back—that’s important too.

This is a non-judgmental, down-to-earth space. Think less “clinical office,” more “someone sitting across from you saying: yeah… that makes sense.”

Whenever you’re ready, you can start anywhere:
• A thought that keeps looping
• A feeling you don’t know how to name
• Something you’re embarrassed to admit matters
• Or just: “I don’t know why I feel like this”
