It's Bike Week and – and there's still time to support an incredible inclusive cycling challenge! πŸš΄β€β™‚οΈ

As we celebrate the power of cycling to bring people together during Bike Week, we're shining a spotlight on We Ride Together North – an inspiring fundraising challenge taking place this July.

From 14–16 July, a determined team from Wheels for All will travel 121 miles from Kendal to Newcastle, aiming to raise Β£10,000 and highlight the urgent need for more inclusive cycling opportunities across the North East. πŸ’™

Chair of Trustees Paul Alcock, Chief Partnerships Officer Ian Tierney, and friend of the charity Nick Green will complete the journey on a Van Raam Fun2Go side-by-side cycle – the same type of adapted cycle used every day at Wheels for All hubs across the country.

The challenge will not only be a fundraiser but will demonstrate that cycling should be accessible to everyone, regardless of age or ability, and will help create more opportunities for disabled people to experience the freedom and joy that cycling can bring. ✨

We're also inviting local cyclists, organisations and supporters to join the team for sections of the route and ride alongside them. πŸ™Œ

A huge thank you to Tomcat SNI Ltd and VanRaam UK for supporting the challenge and helping make inclusive cycling possible for more people. ❀️

What a fantastic day at the Manchester Volunteer Fair on Saturday! πŸš²πŸ’™

As part of last weeks Volunteers Week celebrations and with this week being Bike Week, we were delighted to attend the event and share the many ways people can get involved with volunteering at Wheels for All.

It was wonderful to speak with over 50 people about volunteering opportunities across Greater Manchester and how they can help make cycling accessible to disabled people and those with additional needs.

We were also honoured to meet the Lord Mayor of Manchester, Shaukat Ali, and discuss the positive impact inclusive cycling is having in communities across the region.

A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by our stand, asked questions, shared their experiences, and expressed an interest in joining our incredible team of volunteers. Your support helps us continue creating opportunities for more people to experience the joy and freedom of cycling βœ¨πŸŽ‰

It's the first day of and we've got some VERY exciting news to announce... πŸŽ‰πŸš²

In two week’s time, Wheels for All will be celebrating an incredible milestone – our 35th anniversary!
For 35 years, we've been creating opportunities for disabled people and those with differing needs to experience the joy, freedom and benefits of cycling. To mark the occasion, fundraising activities will be taking place across all of our internal Hubs during their usual sessions throughout the anniversary week and we will be sharing some amazing things online as we revisit some wonderful times caught on camera! ✨

Each Hub will be running its own fundraising activities, so if you'd like to get involved, please check with your local Hub or follow your region's page (listed below!) for details of what's happening near you.

Regional JustGiving pages are also now live and ready to receive donations. Every pound raised will help us continue to provide inclusive cycling opportunities for years to come.

Whether you're taking part in a fundraiser, making a donation, volunteering your time or simply helping us spread the word, thank you for being part of our journey ❀️

Here's to celebrating 35 years of inclusive cycling and to the future ahead! πŸš²πŸŽ‰

It's Bike Week! 🚲

Today marks the start of Bike Week, the UK's biggest celebration of cycling, organised by Cycling UK. From people rediscovering cycling after years away from the saddle to those who ride every day, Bike Week is all about celebrating the positive impact cycling can have on our health, wellbeing, communities and environment 🧑

At Wheels for All, we believe cycling should be accessible to everyone. Every week, we see first-hand the difference that inclusive cycling can make – building confidence, creating friendships, improving physical and mental wellbeing, and opening up new opportunities for people of all ages and abilities.

Whether you're joining us at one of our Hubs, heading out with friends and family, or getting back on a bike for the first time in years, Bike Week is the perfect time to celebrate the joy and freedom that cycling can bring!

This year Cycling UK have organised two events for Bike Week - Bike Week Brunch and The Big Bike Revival - follow the link below to see how you can get involved in your area, and make sure to tag us if you take your adapted cycle along to any of these events this week, we'd love to celebrate cycling in all its forms! 🚲✨
