Struggling with stubborn verrucas?

Verrucas can hang around for months and over-the-counter treatments often don't touch them. That's why we use Verrutop is one of our 3 methods we use to treat verrucas at Stride. Its a quick, effective in-clinic treatment that targets the verruca directly, with no pain and no downtime.

Most people just need a short 3 session course, and it's suitable for all ages. Our podiatrists will assess it and talk you through exactly what to expect.

Before ➑️ after. This is what the right treatment can do. πŸ‘£

Our patient came to Stride for a check-up and treatment for a fungal nail infection. It's one of the most common things we see, and one of the most ignored. Most people assume it's just how their nail looks now, or that it'll clear on its own. (It rarely does, fungal infections tend to spread if they're left.)

The good news: it's very treatable. A podiatrist assesses the nail first, confirms it's actually fungal (thickened or discoloured nails aren't always), then builds the right plan for you.

Swipe to see the results after 1 month of using Emtrix πŸ‘€ And it will just continue to get better the more its used!

Got a nail you've kept in socks all summer? Let's take a look, no judgement, just healthier feet.

Meet Helen Keyse, Podiatrist at Stride. πŸ‘‹

Helen's interest in podiatry started in her teens, and nearly three decades on, the passion's still going strong. She earned her BSc (Hons) in Podiatry from the Durham School of Podiatric Medicine in 1997, is a member of the Royal College of Podiatry and registered with the HCPC.

She spent 28 rewarding years in private practice at a well-established clinic in Staffordshire before relocating to Warwickshire in 2025. And we're delighted she's brought all that experience to Stride!

Helen treats a wide range of conditions; callus, corns, thickened toenails and verrucae β€” with a particular interest in ingrown toenails and nail surgery. Her goal? For every patient to leave comfortable and, as many of them put it, "walking on air."

Still got that verruca from last summer?

You're not alone. Verrucae are caused by a virus, and they can sit there for months (sometimes years), especially on the sole of the foot where every step presses them in.

Shop-bought treatments help some people. But if you've been at it for a while with no real change, it's worth having it looked at properly, partly because verrucae are often confused with corns and calluses, which need a completely different approach.

At Stride, a podiatrist assesses it first, then recommends the right treatment for you:
πŸ”Ή Verrutop β€” non-invasive, no freezing or burning, around 90% clear after a course
πŸ”Ή Salicylic acid β€” a gentle topical option, good for smaller or newer verrucae
πŸ”Ή Needling β€” for stubborn ones that haven't budged; usually just one session under local anaesthetic

Different verrucae need different treatments. We'll help you find the one that actually works for yours.

"Will it hurt?" β€” the question we hear most about nail surgery.

If an ingrown toenail's been bothering you (and sandal season isn't helping), you're not alone, and you haven't left it too late. Nail surgery is a quick, straightforward procedure done under local anaesthetic, so the area is fully numbed. Most people are surprised how simple it is, and how much better they feel afterwards.

No judgement. We've seen it all, and we're here to help.
