The Health and Safety Executive has concluded its review of Great Britain's asbestos control limit, which will remain at 0.1 fibres per millilitre.

Following a thorough examination of international scientific and workplace evidence, HSE found no clear proof that lowering the limit would reduce exposures or improve health outcomes. The review highlighted that training, competence and enforcement have a greater influence on reducing risk than changing a numerical threshold.

HSE will continue to monitor emerging evidence, including the EU's planned review in 2029.
