First CT patient welcomed at Phoenix Hospital Chelmsford.

Alliance Medical originally partnered with Phoenix Hospital Group to deliver mobile MRI - and is now supporting the next stage of their service expansion with mobile CT.

The addition of CT is increasing on-site diagnostic capacity, helping the hospital manage rising demand and maintain access to timely imaging, supporting general CT demand, including the introduction of Cardiac CT.

Delivered as part of our wider multi-site support - including One Hatfield and One Ashford - this reflects a model designed to scale.

When diagnostic demand grows, the best partners grow with you.

Hannah Habbouchi speaking at De Montfort University Leicester (DMU)

With demand for PET-CT rising, supporting the next generation of radiographers is critical.

Hannah, our Head of Mobiles, was invited to De Montfort to speak with second year Diagnostic Radiography students about PET-CT imaging.

The session focused on what PET-CT looks like in practice - from referral and patient preparation through to scanning, image review and aftercare - grounding the theory in real clinical workflows.

Sharing practical insight into how services operate helps students better understand both the technical and patient-centred aspects of delivery.

By collaborating with our University partners, we’re helping bridge the gap between education and real-world practice.

Thank you to Stokes and the team for the invitation!

Just one week to go until UKIO Congress 2026!

Across our work - and reflected in the posters and sessions we’re bringing this year - the focus isn’t just on expanding capacity, but what happens when services start to scale.

That includes:

→ How pathways need to adapt as demand increases
→ How workforce and learning models keep pace with change
→ How safety and governance remain consistent across complex delivery models

These are challenges many services are actively working through - and conversations we’re looking forward to continuing at UKIO.

If you’re attending and navigating similar pressures, our team will be there across the week to chat about how we can support. Feel free to reach out to arrange a time to connect.

Dementia is one of the greatest global health challenges we currently face, with nearly 10 million new cases each year.

Dementia care relies on access to specialist imaging and clinical expertise, delivered as part of a joined‑up brain health pathway.

As the UK’s leading provider of PET‑CT - with an integrated network that includes radiopharmaceutical production - we support healthcare systems with advanced neurology imaging, access to appropriate tracers, and specialist reporting, helping build a clearer picture when it matters most.

Beyond service delivery:

Through our infrastructure and partnerships, we support dementia research and innovation - helping explore how diagnostic pathways can continue to evolve.

During Dementia Action Week, we’re proud to support the principle that stronger diagnostic pathways enable better‑coordinated care.

This Dementia Action Week, we’ll be sharing how our work supports earlier insight and improved decision-making, for teams caring for people affected by dementia.

From the role of advanced imaging within brain health pathways to the importance of evidence‑led services, we’ll be focusing on the practical contribution diagnostics can make to dementia care and supporting the Forget Me Not appeal by raising awareness.

Stay tuned as we share more over the week.

The theme for Mental Health Awareness Week is one we believe in deeply: great mental health care isn't just clinical - it's human.

Working in healthcare means showing up for others, often on their hardest days.

For patients, a scan appointment can carry real anxiety - the wait and the unknown of what comes next.

Our teams are there to answer questions and offer reassurance, making someone feel less alone in a situation that can feel overwhelming, particularly through difficult diagnoses.

It's a quiet pressure that comes with a job that truly matters, and one we don't always talk about enough.

Caring for our people and caring for our patients aren't separate things. One makes the other possible. So this week we encourage you to take a moment to check in with a colleague. Ask how someone's really doing.

Because that's where great care begins 🧡

And to everyone across Alliance Medical - thank you for the care you bring to patients and for the care you bring to each other.

Exciting news! Pacemaker‑compatible MRI scans now available at our West Middlesex MRI.

Delivered with Chelsea & Westminster Hospital, this is a major milestone for local patients with implanted cardiac devices.

Our new service is set to increase capacity for patients with pacemakers within the community. That means better local access for people who previously faced long waits, alternative imaging, or travel outside the area.

Traditionally, MRI hasn’t been suitable for many pacemaker patients due to sensitivity to magnetic fields. But advances in pacemaker technology - combined with specialist clinical expertise - now mean patients can safely undergo MRI with careful monitoring.

We’d like to give a big shoutout to both teams, and a huge well done to everyone involved 👏

And there’s more to come:

Later this year the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust will open a new Ambulatory Diagnostic Centre MRI unit, adding three new scanners to the service that will see capacity improve even further.

Stay tuned for more updates…
