Yet another Fleetwood legend was honoured yesterday at the funeral of 69-year-old Stuart Brooks, a self-proclaimed “proper Fleety Cod Head.”

What a vibrant life Stuart led, having been raised by his parents, Beryl and Bob, alongside his brothers Bill and Tony, and sisters Lorraine, Valerie, and Alanda.

He then became a proud father to Jordan and Chelsee, and the icing on the cake was his role as a “grandad ratbag” to Harvey and Ace.

Many family members shared delightful stories of Stuart’s antics, perfectly encapsulating one of his favorite sayings:

“Dance as if no one were watching, sing as if no one were listening, and live every day as if it were your last.”

Stuart's life was rich with experiences, from his time at sea to his love of horse racing and enjoying moments with friends in Fleetwood’s pubs.

I’ll leave the final sentiments to his devoted daughter Chelsee, who beautifully expressed:

“It was Stuart’s generous and loving heart that made him unique, as well as being a man who loved those closest to him unconditionally.

He was a bit like Peter Pan, wanting to be remembered as the ‘boy who never grew up’; someone who never stopped living life ‘in the fast lane’ and lived it ‘louder, funnier, and wilder’ than most people half his age.”

Stuart will be fondly remembered for his zest for life and the love he shared with those around him. 🐟❤️✨

What a delightful and kind review for a recent wedding!

It highlights how “stress-free” I strive to make the day for the couple, recognising that brides and grooms already have plenty to focus on as they prepare for, and on, their big day.

Creating a relaxed atmosphere allows them to fully enjoy the moments without added pressure.

It’s incredibly rewarding to know that my efforts in organising and supporting them contribute to a seamless experience, allowing them to cherish every moment of their celebration.

Well, guess what! At Katy and Jack’s wonderful wedding yesterday at Poulton-le-Fylde Community Hall, something truly magical happened.

Just as the ceremony was coming to a close, Back Chat Brass brass band appeared out of nowhere from behind the stage curtains!

They not only finished off the proceedings with a lively performance but also escorted the happy couple to Bistro Italia across the street.

It’s these unexpected moments that make my weddings so special and memorable.

The joy and surprise added an unforgettable touch to the day, creating lasting memories for everyone involved.

It’s a reminder of how love and celebration can bring people together in the most delightful ways. 🎺💖✨

Many families often describe someone as being part of a town's "fabric and furniture," and that sentiment truly resonates with the legacy of 61-year-old Fleetwood legend Gary "Gaz" Blundell.

Gaz lived his entire life in Fleetwood, where he was well-known for his friendly nature and never struggled to bump into someone he knew for a chat.

He was a devoted son to Carol and Brian, a brother to Linda, Paul and Bryan, and a beloved brother-in-law and uncle to many.

However, it was his children, Brett and Sherri, along with his granddaughters—Mia, Ruby, Arabella, and River—who brought Gaz the most joy and meaning in his life.

During Gaz's packed funeral, Sherri spoke beautifully about her father, while granddaughter Arabella shared special memories and jokes that highlighted Gaz's vibrant spirit.

In these modern times, society truly needs characters like Gaz—individuals who bring warmth, laughter, and connection to their communities. His legacy will be fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. 🐟❤️✨

In this kind review are embedded two of my key principles that guide my approach to conducting a funeral:

1. **Engaging with the Family Early**:

To me, It’s essential to speak with the next of kin as soon as possible after the Funeral Director has provided me with their details or I’ve been contacted direct by the family other than by a phone call.

This not only helps in arranging a meeting at the family’s convenience but also establishes a positive relationship right from the start.

Building trust and understanding with the family is crucial to me to assist in creating a meaningful ceremony.

2. **Inclusion of Key Family Members and Friends**:

Ensuring that important family members and close friends feel included in the ceremony is vital.

Their insights on how they connected with the deceased enrich the tribute, making it more personal and reflective of the individual's life and relationships.

By focusing on these principles, I strive to create a ceremony that honours the deceased while providing comfort and support to their loved ones during such a difficult time.

This lovely lady is Carol Hill, who proudly spent her whole life in Blackpool, sharing 52 wonderful years with her husband, Clive.

Carol had a diverse work history, including roles at Febland’s Furniture store, Littlewoods, and working part-time at the pay booth at The Lion on the promenade.

However, it was her family that brought her the most joy and meaning in life—not just Clive, but also their daughter, Alyson.

Together, Carol and Alyson formed a true double act, enjoying each other's company not only around town but in various other aspects of their lives. Their bond was evident to all who knew them.

Carol was also cherished by many long-term friends, a testament to her warm spirit and the connections she built throughout her life.

This was beautifully illustrated yesterday as her friends filled Carleton Crematorium to celebrate her life and the impact she had on those around her.

Carol will be fondly remembered for her love, laughter, and the meaningful relationships she nurtured. 💖✨🌹

This wonderful lady, with her dog Kaisy, is Julie Tuer, a cherished ex-colleague of mine.

It meant a great deal to me when her husband, Dave—another former colleague—asked me to conduct her funeral yesterday at Beetham Crematorium.

Julie spent most of her childhood in Galgate, near Lancaster, where she shared a strong bond with her parents and sister, Susan.

After marrying her first husband, Julie became a devoted mother to Paul, Suzanne, and Jamie, all of whom she treasured deeply, along with her grandchildren, Maisie, Mollie, and Charlie.

A beautiful twist of fate brought Julie and Dave together, thanks to their colleagues Helen and Jo, whose intuition in setting them up turned out to be spot on!

Even better for Julie, she also became a treasured stop mother to Dave’s then four year old daughter Megan.

After marrying in 2005, they both retired and followed their hearts to Scotland, eventually returning to the Lancaster area this year.

The love and admiration Julie garnered from family, friends, and colleagues was evident during her funeral and demonstrated just how many lives she touched.

Julie will be fondly remembered for her warmth, kindness, and the joyful spirit she brought to those around her. 🐾❤️✨
