Very much looking forward to see the Hastings House group next week 🙌

ND BrainSpace – Next Session: Wednesday 17th June, 7:00–8:30pm

"As a neurodivergent person, I found the opportunity to share and discuss ideas/experiences really reassuring and valuable. I've left with a stronger coping mechanism/tool and everyone was super friendly."

ND BrainSpace offers a relaxed, welcoming environment to connect with others, share lived experiences, and explore everyday challenges together.

The group is run in partnership with Choose Your Way and is free to attend, thanks to the generous funding of Friends of Hastings House.

💻 ND BrainSpace Online Community Social — Lunchtime 💻

Join us online on Tuesday 9th June, 12:30–1:30pm, for a relaxed lunchtime community social.

Come along from wherever you are — desk, sofa, bed, car between appointments, or your favourite quiet corner 😄

This session will include an optional little show and tell or Q&A, so you’re welcome to bring:
✨ something you’re enjoying or working on
✨ a current hyperfocus
✨ a craft project, game, book, or random object of significance
✨ or a question you’d like to ask me or the group

No pressure to share or even speak — listening quietly absolutely counts too.

Camera on or off, multitasking, fidgeting, pacing, eating lunch, existing slightly awkwardly… all welcome here 💛

Hosted on Google Meet.

🌞 I am really looking forward to the ND BrainSpace Summer Social at Lifeways - this week!! 🌞

Join us on Wednesday 3rd June, 7:00–8:30pm, for a relaxed summer evening in the beautiful Lifeways gardens 💛

The aim is to create a neurodivergent-friendly space to chat, connect, unmask a bit, stim freely, and coexist without awkward icebreakers or social expectations.

Everyone is welcome — friends, family, partners, carers, support people, and support animals (on leads / safely secured).

We’ll also have an optional little show-and-tell!
That might mean bringing:
✨ a craft project
✨ a favourite game
✨ something you’re making or hyperfocusing on
✨ or anything else you’d enjoy sharing

No pressure to bring anything — or even to talk much at all. Quiet participation absolutely counts 😄

We’ll provide biscuits and soft drinks, and you’re welcome to bring your own refreshments or something to share if you’d like.

RSVPs are really helpful, so we can judge numbers and buy enough biscuits!

If you have any severe allergies or accessibility requirements, please let us know before the event.

Our May topic is Masking & Identity.

This month we explored what masking actually is, why so many neurodivergent people do it, and the emotional toll of constantly adapting yourself to fit in, stay safe, or avoid judgement.

We learnt how masking can affect identity, relationships, self-esteem, and nervous system regulation — but also shared ideas around self-acceptance, safer unmasking, boundaries, sensory support, and reconnecting with who you are underneath the performance.

A little reminder for Wednesday's ND BrainSpace 💛 in Stratford Upon Avon.

This week we’re exploring: ✨ Identity & Masking ✨

For many neurodivergent people, masking is part of everyday life — trying to appear “ok,” fitting in, or hiding differences to feel accepted. But it can be exhausting, leaving us with low self-esteem, feeling misunderstood and disconnected.

We’ll look at:
✨ Common experiences — masking, people-pleasing, imposter syndrome, late identification, and that feeling of not quite fitting anywhere
🛠️ What can help — noticing when you’re masking, understanding why, and exploring safer ways to be yourself

As always, it’s a relaxed, low-pressure space. You’re very welcome to share, or just listen — whatever feels right for you.
