Can acupuncture help start labour?

Many women choose acupuncture when they reach 40+ weeks or want to encourage labour before a medical induction.

Treatment focuses on supporting the body’s natural labour process by:

• encouraging uterine activity
• helping the cervix prepare for labour
• supporting hormonal balance
• reducing stress and tension

Treatments are gentle, relaxing and tailored to each individual pregnancy.

Many women choose 1–3 sessions over a few days.

Such a lovely message from a new patient. We didn't even get to the needles, because she was in such an extreme state of anxiety when she arrived. Having suffered debilitating OCD for years, just getting to the appointment was a monumental achievement. Now that I've gained her trust, we can start gentle treatment at a pace with which she's comfortable.
