5 things you may not know about private memorial gardens 🌷

Private memorial gardens offer families and individuals a unique and personal place to remember someone special. But there are a few things you may not know about them:

1. The space is yours to keep 💫
When you purchase a private memorial garden, you are purchasing the land, providing a permanent place of remembrance for your family.

2. Families can stay together 💫
Private memorial gardens are available in a range of sizes, including larger spaces designed to accommodate families, creating a place where loved ones can be remembered together in the future.

3. You can make it personal 💫
From the colour and type of chippings or stones to the shape of the garden, there are different ways to personalise the space. Trees, shrubs and additional memorials can also be incorporated to create a truly individual tribute.

4. They don't always need to contain ashes 💫
While ashes are placed within the ground in many private memorial gardens, a garden can also be created without ashes. It can instead provide a dedicated, personal place to reflect, remember and honour someone.

5. You can plan ahead at today’s price 💫
If a private memorial garden is something you’d like for the future, you can pre-purchase now at today’s price, giving you peace of mind that future price increases won’t affect your purchase.

Every family and individual remembers differently. If a private memorial garden sounds like something you'd be interested in, don't hesitate to contact or visit us for more details - we'd be honoured to support you 🤍

🦋 As the Big Butterfly Count comes to a close, we'd like to take a moment to celebrate the wonderful wildlife that calls our grounds home 🌿

Our crematorium is more than a place of remembrance – it's also a haven for nature. From butterflies and bees to birds and wildflowers, we're proud to care for beautiful green spaces that support local wildlife while providing peaceful surroundings for the families who visit us.

Looking after our grounds also means helping to create healthy habitats where nature can continue to thrive. Every butterfly, every wildflower and every small act of conservation plays a part in protecting these special spaces for future generations.

Thank you to everyone who has taken part in this year's Big Butterfly Count. Together, we're helping to build a better understanding of the wildlife around us and the importance of protecting it 🧡🦋🌼

❤️Our Commitment to the Highest Standards of Care
❤️

In light of recent events within the funeral profession, we would like to reassure all the families we serve of our unwavering commitment to providing the very highest standards of care, dignity, and respect.

The trust that families place in us is something we never take for granted and we respect and honour that trust highly. Every person entrusted to our care is treated with compassion and professionalism from the moment they arrive with us.

As part of our commitment to excellence, we are proud members of the Federation of Burial and Cremation Authorities (FBCA). Membership is entirely voluntary and reflects our dedication to maintaining the highest professional standards. Our facilities, procedures, and practices are independently assessed to ensure we continue to meet and exceed recognised industry expectations.

We also believe that openness and transparency are essential. That's why we operate an Open Door Policy, welcoming members of the public to visit our crematorium, tour our facilities, and ask any questions they may have. We hope this provides reassurance and confidence that every loved one in our care is treated with the utmost dignity and respect.

If you would like any further information about our facilities, procedures, or the standards we uphold, please don't hesitate to contact our office, visit our website, or pop in for a chat. We are always here to help.

At Mendip Crematorium, it is important for us to wear many hats. Every family we care for is unique, just like the loved ones they have lost. There is NO right or wrong way to grieve. When we love deeply, we grieve deeply. Grief is the price we pay for love ❤️

🤍 Some people want to talk and share stories about their loved one – we have time for them.
🤍 Some people prefer to sit quietly and keep their thoughts private – we have time for them.
🤍 Some people need to cry and let their emotions out – we have time for them.
🤍 Some people feel angry and don't know how to cope with those emotions – we have time for them too.

Whatever your journey looks like, please remember that you do not have to face it alone. We are here to listen, to support, and to help you find the care and support you need, whenever you are ready.

Before the service, during the service, and afterwards, we are here to support you. Nici will contact you to check in with you, but please remember that no matter how you choose to navigate the loss of your loved one, you are never alone. We are here for you whenever you need us.❤️
