🟠As the Flu season approaches, it’s vital to protect your child from flu. The Fluenz Nasal Spray is a quick painless and effective way to safeguard your child’s health.
🟢If your child is aged in between 2 or 3 years old on or after 31st August 2026 they will be eligible for a Fluenz Nasal Spray.
🟣We are booking appointments for Fluenz Nasal Spray from Monday 14th September.
🟡We will be sending out booking links to parents and guardians via text message, within the coming weeks, making it convenient to book your child in at a time that works around you.

🦠🤧 Welshpool Medical Centre Flu Vaccinations Autumn/Winter 2026 🦠🤧

🟢As the Flu season approaches, Doctor Russell & Partners are inviting you to receive your Flu vaccination at Welshpool Medical Practice.

🟡By having your Flu vaccination administered at your local GP Surgery, the Clinical Team have advantage of holding your medical records allowing for seamless, continual health care.

You will be eligible for a Flu Vaccination if you fall within any of these categories:
🟣All individuals aged 65 and over on the 31st March 2027 (born before 1st April 1962)
🟣Plus, any patients aged 6 months to 64 years who are in any of the following clinical risk groups:
🟣Chronic respiratory disease (such as asthma that requires regular inhaled steroids/ tablets or COPD)
🟣Chronic heart disease
🟣Chronic kidney disease
🟣Chronic liver disease
🟣Chronic neurological disease (such as Parkinson’s disease or Motor Neurone disease)
🟣Learning disability
🟣Severe mental illness
🟣Diabetes
🟣Epilepsy
🟣Had a stroke (or mini stroke)
🟣Immunosuppression due to disease or treatment (such as steroid or cancer treatment) OR a close contact/ live in the same house as someone in this group
🟣Asplenia or problem with spleen (Sickle cell disease, spleen removed)
🟣Morbidly obese (current BMI over 40)
🟣Pregnant (at any stage)
🟣People living in care homes or long-stay care facilities
🟣Carers
🟣Voluntary first aiders
🟣Community first responders
🟣Healthcare workers and social care staff
🟣Individuals experiencing homelessness

Look at August, our figures are down significantly. This is great news for all.
𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 – 𝟳𝟯 patients did not attend their appointments and did not let us know.

🟠5 Diabetic Monitoring appointments and the patients did not let us know
🟢 5 Wound Care dressing appointments and the patients did not let us know

❌ Patients have an ability to cancel their prebooked appointments at the point of receiving the two appointment text message reminders, telephoning into the practice throughout the day between 8 am - 6 pm, emailing into the practice by using [email protected] or by using the website and clicking on the blue title ‘cancelling your appointment’.

📢 𝗗𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀,
We are very sorry to advise patients that, for the third day running, we have not received our medication delivery.
We fully appreciate the frustration and inconvenience this is causing, particularly for patients who are waiting for medication and due to collect it.
Please be assured that we placed our medication orders in plenty of time. Unfortunately, the delay is due to circumstances outside of the practice’s control.
