☕ Afternoon Tea Week Celebrations ☕

This week marks Afternoon Tea Week, an annual celebration of the much-loved British tradition and a wonderful opportunity to slow down, enjoy good food and spend time together.

Residents and staff at Mantles Court Care Home decided to put their own twist on the traditional afternoon tea, celebrating with a delicious sweet and savoury grazing board, offering plenty of tasty treats for everyone to choose from. And, of course, no afternoon tea would be complete without a cuppa served in traditional cups and saucers! 🫖

Residents and relatives enjoyed a wonderful occasion filled with a variety of treats, conversation and plenty of laughter.

Before the bunting is packed away and the last game has been played for the day, we wanted to share just how much fun our Summer Garden Parties have been! 🌼🎉

Across our homes, residents have been making the most of the great outdoors with garden games, music, singing, delicious treats, laughter and plenty of memorable moments with family, friends and our fantastic teams. From friendly competitions to dancing under the open sky, every celebration has been filled with smiles.

Yesterday, Mountbatten Lodge Care Home had the pleasure of welcoming Niran, a local member of the community, to celebrate his 29th birthday with residents after he kindly asked to share part of his special day with the home.

Instead of receiving gifts, Niran chose to celebrate by giving to others. He visited the home and brought treats to share with residents, reflecting a valued tradition from his culture of giving to others on your birthday.

Niran’s thoughtful gesture was greatly appreciated by residents and staff, bringing smiles across the home and creating a lovely opportunity to connect with the local community.

On Thursday, residents at Mayfair Lodge got creative as they spent time making their own beautiful hand-tied bouquets to display around the home. 💐

Everyone enjoyed getting involved, from choosing their favourite colours and arranging the flowers to taking in the lovely scents and sharing stories about their favourite blooms. It was a wonderful opportunity for residents to be creative, reminisce and add a personal touch to the home with their colourful floral arrangements.

🎾 Game, set, match at Melwood Grange Care Home! 🎾

Residents at Melwood Grange embraced the excitement of Wimbledon with an afternoon of balloon tennis, bringing plenty of energy, laughter and friendly competition to the home. The celebrations continued as residents gathered to watch the tournament on the big screen,
allowing everyone to enjoy one of Britain's most iconic sporting events together.

Activities such as these provide valuable opportunities to promote physical activity, encourage social engagement and create meaningful moments for residents, while celebrating national events in a fun and inclusive way.
