📢 It’s Feedback Friday time -

A client's daughter has said that Julie J. was amazing looking after her mum when she was ill and waiting for paramedics.

A client has said that Courtney is really good and does a brilliant job.

It was really nice to see Iram set up for the morning carers this week.

We came highly recommended to a new client by a local G.P Surgery.

C.M has said that Diane S. was brilliant when they had to be taken into hospital urgently. Diane got C.M's bag ready for her and waited with her.

Great work this week everyone 👏🏼.

It's World Su***de Prevention Day today.

The theme identified for 2024-2026 is ‘Changing the Narrative on Su***de’ with an associated call to action of; ‘Start the Conversation’.

Changing the narrative on su***de is about transforming how we perceive this complex issue. It’s about shifting from a culture of silence and lack of understanding to one of openness, empathy, and support. Changing the narrative on su***de aims to inspire individuals, communities, organizations, and governments to engage in open and honest discussions about su***de and suicidal behaviour. By initiating these vital conversations, we can break down barriers, raise awareness, and create better cultures of understanding and support.

Changing the narrative requires systemic change. It means advocating for multisectoral policies that prioritize mental health, increase access to care, and provide support for those in need. It means investing in research to better understand the complexities of su***de and develop evidence-based interventions.

Changing the narrative means fostering empathy and compassion for those who are struggling. It means understanding that suicidal thoughts and feelings are a sign of immense pain and distress but talking about suicidal thoughts does not increase their presence or occurrence. It means listening without judgment, offering support, and guiding individuals towards help.

September is World Alzheimer’s Month, an international campaign to raise dementia awareness and challenge stigma each year.

Evidence suggests that when people with dementia and their families are well prepared and supported, feelings of shock, anger and grief are balanced by a sense of reassurance and empowerment.

Over 50% of carers globally say their health has suffered as a result of their caring responsibilities even whilst expressing positive sentiments about their role.

50% of the costs for dementia are related to informal care.

Globally, the annual number of unpaid informal care hours provided to people with dementia living at home is the equivalent of 67 million full-time workers.

If you need help and support for a loved one with Dementia, please don't hesitate to give us a call.
