Huge congratulations to Hope Gordon, who stepped onto the Commonwealth Games stage in Glasgow on Thursday evening and competed in women’s heavyweight para powerlifting for Team Scotland.
9th in the world. In a sport she only took up 13 months ago. While being a reigning Paralympic silver medallist - in a completely different sport.
Hope is the first athlete in history to compete at a Summer Paralympics, a Winter Paralympics and a Commonwealth Games across three different disciplines. She’s also one of ours - Brodie has been working closely with Hope as part of her preparation, and we couldn’t be more proud of what she achieved on that stage.
From crowdfunding her own leg amputation at 21 to representing her country on home soil a decade later - Hope’s journey is one of the most extraordinary in British sport.
The Paracanoe World Championships are next. We’ll be watching! 💪
