Do you sometimes dread family time at the weekend πŸ™ˆ There is no shame in admitting it I work with families who are at the end of their tether and admit that they are struggling. Endless tantrums, arguing, shouting..... well it doesn't have to be like that.

A few tweaks to meal and snack times, lots of praise (although you might wonder how praise comes into all this) and some time out together is all it takes to transform your family life.

Another day of rubbish weather his half term!! An idea to share with you all.......

I am a mum of boys and it seemed by eldest(nearly 6) was almost embarrassed to tell me that he believed in fairies and would like to make a fairy garden. It led to a huge family plan on how we are going to build it, where it's going and what will tempt the fairies in?

Maybe something to try with your little ones? Any activity that you can share together, make memories, share conversation and have fun is definitely worth doing πŸ’ͺ🏻

If we don't actively listen to our children we can't expect them to listen to us.....

Sometimes we are all guilty of getting wrapped up in our busy lives that we forget the last time we actually had a proper conversation with our children . It's easy to pretend to listen or to only half listen.

Find a time in your day where you can give 100% of your time to each of your children to actually listen and engage with them. It could be at bath time, story time, when your walking home from school. Enjoy this special time because one day they will be older and it may be more of a struggle.

You can have a presence in your children's lives but actually not be there 100%

If you get kids involved in meal times and cooking they will eat better πŸ‘ŒπŸΌ

One of the biggest questions I get asked is how to deal with fussy eaters.....

Well the take it or leave approach! If you consistently offer your children the "safe" option they will never try new things and learn to love food. Reward and PRAISE for trying something new. Example being my youngest who isn't keen on raw pepper! Well he tried a teeny raw piece for a sticker on his chart and was so proud to have tried something new.

It's is such a beautiful time of year and what better reason to wrap up snug and go for a walk with the kids. It's great to be active, fresh air is good for us and crunching in the leaves and collecting autumn treasure can create some lovely conversations with your little ones. Collect some bits and then this can lead on to some craft ideas when you get home. Sometimes being cooped up inside or just stuck in your everyday routine is hard and often children get frustrated and can misbehave. Just 30 minutes of outside time can brighten everyone's mood πŸ˜€
