The message is genuine and asks some patients to confirm whether they still need their appointment. Please take a few minutes to respond if you receive one.

The surgery is closed tomorrow (Monday 14th September) for the bank holiday; the surgery will however be open for health board vaccinations, if you have an appointment to attend for a vaccine please ensure you come in for this. You will be met in reception and directed from there.
There are no GPs or clinical surgery staff within the surgery so please DO NOT attend for medical help, for non urgent enquires please contact 111 or in an emergency 999.

Did you know that having a Power of Attorney in place can help avoid delays when important decisions need to be made about you or a family member's care?

A Power of Attorney gives a trusted person the legal authority to make decisions on someone's behalf if they become unable to make decisions for themselves.

Without a Power of Attorney, families cannot automatically make decisions, and legal processes may be needed before someone can act. This can delay decisions about care and support at a critical time.

Planning ahead can help ensure a person's wishes are respected, reduce uncertainty for families, and support timely decisions when someone is ready to leave hospital and move on to the next stage of their care.

The GP surgery will be closed on Monday 14th of September, for appointments. However, if you are booked for a vaccination please come to the surgery as organised by letter.

2026 Winter Flu and Covid-19 Vaccinations.
This winter, the flu and COVID-19 vaccines are being offered to people who are considered most at risk.
Please check the following link for eligibility for each vaccine:

DO NOT CALL the surgery to make a vaccine appointment, you will receive a letter or you will be given a number to call to arrange the appointment - we do not have access to this system any more.
There are limited leaflets available at the surgery should you wish more information. The vaccination clinics will be held at the surgery.

West Linton Medical Practice are moving over to CTAC Hub on Monday 27th July. This means if you need to be seen by phlebotomy/health care assistant, Cara or by Ann our CTAC Nurse, you will be given a request slip to phone the Hub and make an appointment. There is a phone available in reception which will be working, you are welcome to use this too and we will of course be on hand if you need support to do so.
The slip you receive will have all information to enable you to make this appointment with the CTAC Hub.

Change is always difficult and we do understand this is another task to deal with, however it should work well, all the other GP practices in the Borders are using this system, and feedback so far has been positive.
