This is me. This is my skin.
Over the last few months I’ve been investing in advanced skin treatments. New training, new knowledge and a completely different way of looking at skin.
So I thought it was only fair that I started with my own.
I’ve always had naturally oily skin, but I also have PCOS, so I still get hormonal breakouts around my chin. I struggled with mild acne throughout my twenties too and, despite turning 40 this year, my hormones clearly haven’t got the memo! The spots don’t actually bother me; it’s the pigmentation they leave behind that drives me mad.
I’ve also got visible thread veins and capillaries, pigmentation from years of sun exposure and not taking SPF seriously (and yes… the sunbeds before a holiday!), visible pores, the start of fine lines and, after losing a significant amount of weight, I’ve definitely noticed less volume through my lower face.
…and one eyebrow always seems to be auditioning for a different role because the muscles on one side of my face are clearly stronger than the other! 🥴
So what’s the plan?
I’m starting with pHformula homecare alongside their skin resurfacing treatments to strengthen my skin barrier and improve pigmentation, skin tone and overall skin quality.
I’ll also be having IPL as soon as I’ve completed my training because skincare can’t remove visible thread veins or broken capillaries once they’re there. It should also help improve the pigmentation caused by years of UV exposure.
Microneedling will focus on collagen, skin quality, pores and fine lines, while Dermalux LED will support healing, calm inflammation and help manage my hormonal breakouts.
Every product and treatment has been chosen for a reason because different skin concerns need different solutions. That’s exactly how I’ll be approaching every client’s skin journey.
This isn’t about chasing perfect skin. It’s about understanding my skin, treating what I can and making informed decisions based on what my skin actually needs.
So this is where my journey starts.
I’ll be sharing the treatments I have, why I’ve chosen them and, hopefully, the results along the way.
