Last week we installed this Elap K0 Over Ring Wireless Fixed By Interface and Push Down Brake with 3 functions to a customer's private Fiat 500.

The over-ring is a less popular hand control, but is available on the majority of cars. We'd normally check that a customer is already using one, before fitting - or would refer anyone interested to Driving Mobility for a supervised and safe driving assessment.

The rings are available on the Motability Scheme

At the weekend, we were delighted to attend the excellent Superhero Series at Dorney Lake. God to see our friends from Allied Mobility and Brotherwood there too.

The event is a fully inclusive triathlon across multiple distances, allowing competitors across a full range of abilities to compete, have fun and raise money at the same time. Each competitor was an absolute superstar, as the heat would have made it even harder than normal (we were struggling and we weren’t even competing!). More info here https://superheroseries.co.uk/

Yesterday our senior engineer Jason adapted this Motability Scheme customer’s MINI Countryman at Group 1 Worthing MINI

Along with push pull hand controls, this customer had a Mobility in Motion Chair Topper Roof Mounted Transferable Wheelchair Stowage Box – to enable the customer to have a fully independent driving solution.

We recently completed this install for a private customer, on their Smart FORTWO EQ PULSE.

We fitted a Jeff Gosling Ltd Twin Flip Folding Left Foot Accelerator along with a Lodgesons 13 Way Remote Control Device (Lollipop / Steering ball).

Both solutions offer independent driving for a customer who may struggle to use their right side, enabling acceleration/braking with the left foot and functions such as such as Indicators, Lights (Dip/Main/Flash), Front/rear wash & wipe and Horn.

Our engineer Dan installed these products on a Ford UK Kuga, for a Motability Scheme customer yesterday.

The customer ordered their car via our friends at Hendy Group in Redhill and added the following adaptations to their order.

To assist in lifting their mobility device, the customer ordered a Mobility in Motion Autochair 80Kg 4 Way Transferable Boot Hoist (Smartlifter LC). In addition to this, they have Mobility in Motion Brig-Ayd Controls Ltd Push/Pull Brake/Accelerator With Toggle Indicator, fitted in combination with Jeff Gosling Ltd Hinged Accelerator Pedal (Vehicle Specific), to enable the driver to have more leg room when using the hand controls. The hinged pedal is something we'd emplore all customers with hand controls to ask about.

We recently adapted this vehicle, in partnership with our friends at Allied Mobility for a mutual Motability Scheme customer.

The vehicle was a Ford UK Grand Tourneo Connect, that had been converted by Allied Mobility to allow the customer to drive from their wheelchair. We then added Cowal Mobility Aids Ltd Push/Pull Brake/Accelerator with Indicator Switch and Q'Straint QLK Wheelchair Docking System, as well as a Crash Tested Wheelchair Bracket.

This means the customer can enter in their power chair and dock in the driving position, enabling full independence.

The customer commented instantly on how easy the docking system has made the process of getting in and out the vehicle when driving from a powered wheelchair. She also gave us some amazing feedback

“Ergomobility went out of their way to support the customer. All of the staff are so friendly and it was like a family atmosphere at their premises”

It was good she visited on a good day!

On Monday we installed this Elap rotating car seat for a Motability Scheme customer, as a mid-lease installation. This solution was funded by The Motability Foundation due to the customer’s circumstances changing since they originally took delivery of the car. The seat worked brilliantly in this MG Motor Europe MG4.

Mid-lease adaptations are quite rare compared with adapting vehicles at the start of the contract – but in partnership with Elap we carried out a full assessment to find the perfect combination of adaptation for the customer. In these instances, we provide a full report for the Foundation, so the customer, Motability Scheme and Motability Foundation are all on the same page.

The Elap rotating car seat swivels up to 90 degrees outside the vehicle, reducing the effort required to transfer before smoothly rotating back into the vehicle with a simple release lever. Suitable for a wide range of vehicles, the Elap Rotating Car Seat offers a discreet, reliable and affordable mobility solution.

Last week we installed adaptations on this Motability Scheme customer's car, for our friends at Birchwood Group

The customer selected this Kia UK EV4, transferring their Mobility in Motion Roof Mounted Wheelchair Stowage Box. This enables the customer to experience full independence in their car. We also made up two bespoke transfer plates, to assist the customer getting in and out of the vehicle for journeys where they're driving and also as a passenger.

On Friday we finally completed our training to install the new Des Gosling Mobility Ltd Swift Lift boot hoist.

This new hoist allows for quick and easy loading of mobility devices weighing up to 60kg into the boot of a vehicle.

The folding arm removes any obstruction from your rear-view mirror when driving, and once folded down usually even allows a parcel shelf to be refitted if required.

Our engineers undertook the training whilst installing the product to a Nissan Qashqai for our friends at Yeomans Nissan in Worthing – for a mutual customer on the Motability Scheme

We’re delighted to be able to take orders for this product from now on, alongside the other hoists we’re accredited to fit (if you need to lift something heavier than 60kg).
