🏳️‍🌈 WHAT A FINALE! 🏳️‍🌈

Our Love in the Community month came to the most incredible close yesterday, and what a way to finish!

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for our Grand Community Coffee Morning. It was wonderful to welcome members of Seacroft Village Hall who gave our final raffle ticket sales such a fantastic boost and helped make the morning so special and Chris for coordinating it all and donations 🥰

Together, our community has achieved something truly amazing...

£678 raised for the Leeds Children's Social Services Emergency Fund combined with Tesco's incredible fundraising!
£425 raised for Out Together LGBT
£205 raised for Zarach, helping children who don't have a bed of their own.
Plus an amazing collection of food donations delivered to St Richard's Church Food Bank, supporting local families in our community.

A special thank you goes to Sharon Timony O'Rourke from Tesco, who has been an absolute superstar throughout the month. Your generosity, encouragement and unwavering support have helped make this campaign such a huge success! 💞

Thank you to Kay, who did a brilliant job as our raffle compère and keeping everyone entertained. 💖 A huge thank you to Karen, whose amazing 3D-printed creations gave our fundraising a real boost!

To every business that donated prizes, every person who bought a ticket, every volunteer, colleague, resident, relative and community member who supported us... thank you. ❤️

This month has never just been about fundraising. It has been about bringing people together, celebrating inclusion, building new friendships and proving what can happen when a community stands together with kindness and compassion.

From everyone at Seacroft Green Care Home thank you for making Love in the Community 2026 one we will never forget!

💎 Congratulations to Chloe - Our GEM Colleague of the Month! at Seacroft Green Care Home 💎

A huge congratulations to Chloe on being recognised as our GEM Colleague of the Month, an award that reflects the appreciation and respect of the colleagues who work alongside her every day.

When Chloe's colleagues were asked why she deserved this recognition, one message came through loud and clear... she always steps up when she's needed most.
Whether it's taking charge of the kitchen at short notice, stepping into the cook's role during the Head Chef's absence, helping with breakfast when the team is short staffed, or simply making sure every resident receives a delicious meal with a warm smile, Chloe gives everything she has.

Her colleagues described her as someone who goes above and beyond, puts her heart and soul into her work, and never hesitates to help when the home needs her. They spoke about her dedication, reliability and the genuine care she shows to the residents every single day.
It's colleagues like Chloe who make Seacroft Green such a special place to live and work.

If anyone ever wondered what Pride at Seacroft Green Care Home looks like... these photos say it all! 🌈

What an afternoon! A huge thank you to the fabulous AngeLABra, who had everyone singing, laughing, dancing and joining in from the very first song. The residents absolutely loved every minute, and the atmosphere was full of joy.

The costumes definitely deserve a mention too! Karen and Caroline looked sweet, as pieces of fruit, everyone else including Madge and Nigel, looking fabulous in their fancy dress... and then there was Sam... whom came as a fridge! 🤦‍♀️😂

One of the highlights of the afternoon was our Prize Bingo, brilliantly hosted by AngeLABra, with some fantastic personified gifts.

It was one of those afternoons where nobody cared what they looked like, everyone just had fun. The laughter was infectious, the music was brilliant, and seeing residents so happy is exactly what makes days like this so special.

Thank you, AngeLEBra, for an unforgettable Pride celebration... and thank you to our amazing families with fancy dress costumes! ... for throwing themselves into the fun, even if a certain somebody came as a kitchen appliance! 🌈💞🥰

There's something really special about baking together. 💞

For many of the residents, it's a chance to reconnect with skills they've used all their lives. Measuring, mixing, cracking eggs, whisking and decorating may seem like simple tasks, but they help maintain independence, encourage confidence and bring back treasured memories.

Everyone played their part, supporting one another from start to finish, and the smiles when the cake was complete the following day, said it all!

Meaningful occupation isn't about keeping busy... it's about creating purpose, celebrating abilities and proving that every person still has something wonderful to contribute.

At Seacroft Green, we don't just make cakes... we create moments that matter. 🥰

🥳 The Grand Finale is Almost Here! 🥳

What a month it's been! A huge thank you to everyone who has bought raffle tickets, donated prizes, volunteered, shared our events, and supported all of our fundraising throughout Love in the Community Month.

Tickets are NOW ON SALE for our final Grand Raffle Draw (please see photos attached) and there's still time to be in with a chance of winning some fantastic prizes! This raffle is in honour of Out Together LGBT 🥰 supporting their incredible work bringing LGBTQ+ generations together, reducing isolation and creating a stronger, more connected community across Yorkshire.

Join us next Friday, 31st July at 10:30am as we draw BOTH of our grand raffles. Someone's going home with a 43" Smart TV... the rest of us will be politely clapping while secretly wishing it was us! 😆

We'll also be announcing the total amount raised across all of our charities, and we can't wait to celebrate what we've achieved together.

£5 per ticket (a strip)🤞 if you're not in it, you can't win it!

Social services raffle is still on sale at £2 a strip with also great prizes!

Go on... buy a ticket. You'll be supporting a fantastic cause, and it'll stop Sam asking you every five minutes if you've got your tickets yet! 😉

🐠 A very special new arrival at Seacroft Green Care Home!

Residents have been delighted to welcome our beautiful new pet goldfish! There was plenty of excitement as everyone gathered around to admire their colours and watch them explore their new homes.

The new tanks can be found at Reception and in the Sky End Lounge. A calming and wonderful addition to our Seacroft Green family! 🥰
