It’s always a treat to go to the seaside and especially when you’re invited to a summer fete with scrummy cakes and a huge tomobola.
It was lovely meeting everyone at The Laleham. Banks had 2 cups of tea ☕️,4 delicious strawberries 🍓 and a scrummy homemade shortbread cookie!

Howdy! 🤠🫏🎶
Banks enjoyed a super Country & Western Party at Whitebirch Lodge in Herne Bay this morning.
The garden was decorated with saloon bar doors, straw bales and everyone wore cowboy hats!
Besides the staff & residents there were several children who couldn’t resist having donkey cuddles 🥰
He downed 2 mugs of tea and some sliced carrots & herb treats and then tried some black coffee!
We can add that to his list of ‘likes’

We had a nice early morning trip to Whitfield this morning, avoiding the heat, and said hello to everyone at Alandale Residential Home.

The cheeky lad finished off some tea dregs and nicked half a digestive biscuit before having his own cup of tea 😂

It’s such a treat seeing the surprise and smiles when Banks enters a room. He absolutely loves the fuss and is happy to stand quietly to allow the stroking and cuddles.

People are also quite surprised to see how big he is. Unlike the miniature Mediterranean donkeys Banks is a decent sized Irish donkey.

Donkeys Make Great Therapy Animals.
They are cautious thinkers, assessing situations calmly rather than bolting when startled, creating a steady and safe environment.
They are totally non-judgmental.
Their gentle, inquisitive nature helps lower emotional defenses and encourages mindfulness.
Unlike horses, which can mirror a handler's high anxiety, donkeys tend to stay calm and help regulate the surrounding emotional atmosphere.
Banks is exceptionally calm and patient.
He’s equally happy to say hello to a 106 year old care home resident as he is celebrating a little girl’s first birthday. ❤️🥳🎂

Banks loves a trip to Margate and today he arrived at the amazing Yoakley House with its care home and alms houses set in the most stunning garden.
We had a walk around the flower beds and found a donkey statue whilst the residents were watching the Punch & Judy show.
Then he introduced himself to everyone outside and was privileged to meet Betty, a wonderful 106 year old lady in her room.
He enjoyed treats and his usual cup of tea but then was treated to something new ~ ICE CREAM! 🍦
He wasn’t sure at first but then decided it was yummy 😋

The Avenues Care Centre Activities Manager, Peter Stanley, somehow managed to organize a summer BBQ & keep the surprise guest a secret from everyone - including the staff!
The secret special guest was Banks The Therapy Donkey!!🫏
The residents had beaming faces when they saw him enter via the back gate and walk up the path to their party.
He met everyone individually, giving cuddles and photo opportunities and then stood under the lovely shaded gazebo to have his refreshments.
With such a lovely sunny day he downed two mugs of tea, sucking it up through his velvety lips much to the amusement of all close by, and enjoyed sliced carrot and herby treats.
Banks adores the attention and cuddles 🥰

Banks received a very warm welcome from everyone at Bluebells Care Home in Whitstable. He gave cuddles and enjoyed 2 cups of tea in his special mug along with herb treats and the odd bit of lettuce and bits of burger bun!
The garden area was decorated for the party and the weather was perfect.

A morning of cuddles, smiles and laughter as Banks met everyone at Ramsgate’s Care Centre.
He was particularly thirsty and downed 2 cups of tea and a jammy dodger!

Banks will be attending the Pet Service at St Peter’s Church in Bekesbourne CT4 5ET 10am this Sunday 5th July.
It’s always a lovely occasion and your pets will receive treats and a blessing!

Banks brought a ray of sunshine on a miserable wet June afternoon and enjoyed meeting the residents and carers at Highfield Care Home at Bekesbourne.
The able-bodied gathered in the lounge had first cuddles before he walked along the corridors to the bedrooms & say hello to those in bed.
He had some sliced apples and carrots, gently taking them with his soft velvet muzzle and then, once everyone had had their photo taken he enjoyed his cup of tea from his special Banks mug.
