🎨🦋Our Summer Garden Mural🐝🌸

After months of creativity, teamwork and imagination, we're so excited to finally unveil our beautiful Summer Garden Mural!

Over the past few months, our residents have worked alongside the incredibly talented Ana from The Art House creating colourful butterflies, buzzing bumblebees, cheerful flowers ans even some wonderful snails to bring our summer garden scene to life🦋🐝🐌🌸

Ana has spent many hour encouraging and supporting our residents, helping them discover that creativity has no limits. Regardless of artistic experience or ability, everyone was able to contribute something unique to this very special piece.

The mural now hangs proudly on our wall, bringing colour, happiness and a real sense of achievement to our home. Every flower, butterfly and bee tells a story of patience, creativity and working together.

At The Manor House WSM we believe that anyone can be a artist. Sometimes all it takes is a little encouragement, a splash of paint and the confidence to give it a go🎨💜

A huge thank you to Ana for sharing her talent, patience and enthusiasm about the whole project. This mural is something our residents can be incredibly proud of and we are sure it will bring smiles to everyone who sees it🌸✨️

🌸Family Mornings at The Manor House WSM🌸

Saturday was another wonderful Family Mornings at The Manor and with the sun shining brightly, there couldn't have been a better day to spend time together in the garden☀️🌻

It was lovely to see so many special moments being shared. Some residents simply enjoyed sitting and chatting with their loved ones, while others spent time looking through treasured wedding photographs, reminiscing about happy memories from years gone by. One of our younger visitors even built a den in the garden, bringing plenty of imagination and smiles to the day💜

Our activity for the morning was 'Fishing for Numbers' - a game that proved you don't need fancy equipment to have fun! Using a homemade fishing rod made from a pool noodle, string and a beanbag, residents carefully "hooked" numbered plates before pulling them toward themselves in the correct order🎣

Not only did the game create lots of fun but also encouraged hand-eye coordination, concentration, problem solving and gentle upper body movement. At The Manor House, we love turning everyday items into engaging, inclusive activities that everyone can enjoy.

Family Mornings are all about creating opportunities to spend meaningful time together, whether that's reminiscing over old photographs, playing games or simply enjoying each other's company in the sunshine.

☀️🎉What a Wonderful Summer Fair!🎉☀️

What a fantastic day we had on Saturday at our The Manor House WSM Summer Fair! The sun was shining, the stalls were up, the bouncy castle was full of laughter and the BBQ was fired up, serving plenty of burgers and hot dogs for everyone to enjoy🌭🍔☀️

We were incredibly lucky to be joined by some wonderful local businesses and talented makers who helped make the day so special.

Showcased his stunning collection of photographs, capturing many recognisable landscapes from Uphill, Weston and the surrounding area. His work not only celebrated the beauty of the local community but also gave visitors a chance to see familiar places from a truly unique perspective.

🌿A Love of Driftwood
brought along a beautiful collection of handcrafted items, all created using locally sourced driftwood from Weston Beach. Mandy's attention to detail and craftsmanship added a real touch of natural elegance to the fair, with every piece telling a story.

✨️Busy Beads
Dazzled visitors with a colourful display of handcrafted pens, bracelets, earrings and so much more. Emma's stall was bursting with colour, creativity and fun, bringing plenty of smiles to everyone who stopped by.

We also had a very special Resident's and Family Stall, selling everything from cuddly toys, jigsaws, household items to delicious homemade cakes🧁🍰

A huge thank you also goes to the fantastic Johnny Smyth Sings who entertained everyone with live music from the front car park. Residents, visitors, stall holders and even passers-by could enjoy the wonderful atmosphere🎶🎸

It was lovely to see so many members of the local community joining us throughout the day. Many took the opportunity to explore our beautiful gardens, lovingly planted and cared for by our residents and their families throughout the year🌸🌿

Most importantly, the day was about bringing people together. It was filled with laughter, conversation, music, friendship and memories that will stay with us for a long time.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to everyone who attended, supported us, volunteered, performed, hosted a stall, donated or simply came along to say hello. You helped make our Summer Fair a truly special day and we can't wait to do it all again next year!💜🌞

☀️🎉Only 3 Days to go!🎉☀️

The countdown is on! This Saturday 18th July, The Manor House WSM will be opening it's doors for our Summer Fair and we'd love to welcome you all!💜

Our residents are so excited to meet members of the local community and share an afternoon of fun, laughter and friendship.

With the weather looking beautiful on Saturday, why not bring the family along? They'll be something for everyone to enjoy, including:

🎈A bouncy Castle for the kids to let off some steam
🌭A BBQ serving delicious burgers and hot dogs
🍦An ice cream van to keep everyone cool
🎶Live entertainment from the fantastic Johnny Smyth Sings
🛍A variety of stalls hosted by talented local artists, makers and small businesses

Our residents will also be running their very own stall which they're very looking forward to chatting with visitors, so don't forget to bring a few pennies along to support them!💜

Take a stroll through our beautiful garden, lovingly cared for by our residents and family members. They've worked so hard planting and looking after it this year and they'd love to share it with you.

More than anything, this day is about bringing people together. Whether you're local in Uphill Village or the surrounding areas in Weston-super-Mare, we'd love you to come along, say hello and help us celebrate the wonderful community we're so proud to be part of.

🌸June Highlights at The Manor House WSM🌸

What a wonderful month we've had here at The Manor House!💜

This month has been all about creativity, laughter, friendship and making meaningful memories together.

Our residents have embraced a variety of imaginative games, proving that some of the best activities come from a little creativity! From 'Crazy Bowling' where pin balls are rolled up a ramp to knock down pins behind the player, to our homemade 'Pin Ball Machine' where every hole has a different score adding a competitive twist, there has been plenty of friendly rivalry. We also enjoyed some 'Aim and Shot' practice, which had everyone laughing as the foam bullets seemed to have a mind of their own!🎯😂

During the hottest days, we cooled off with a few water balloon games creating plenty of smiles and laughter along the way💦☀️

We were Delighted to welcome Ana back to continue creating our beautiful mural. Featuring flowers, butterflies and bees, it is gradually transforming one of our spaces into a colourful garden scene. Whatever their artists ability, residents always find Ana's sessions incredibly relaxing and therapeutic🎨🦋🌼

When the weather allowed, our Activities Coordinator enjoyed one-to-one time with residents, venturing out for gentle walks, stretching their legs and enjoying tea and cake at Costa Coffee☕️🍰

Keeping active has also been a big part of the month, with Torri from GFittness and Sarah from Hutton Moor Leisure Centre putting our residents through their paces with fun, energetic and engaging exercise sessions. Their enthusiasm is always infectious, encouraging everyone to get moving while enjoying plenty of joy along the way💪😊

We also loved welcoming Boogie Beats to The Manor House. Watching the children perform classic stories and inviting residents to join in has been a real highlight, bringing generations together through music, movement and imagination❤️

No month at The Manor House would be complete without our wonderfully chaotic 'Bingo Club'🎱 there was plenty of friendly competition as residents gathered together for one of our favourite monthly traditions.

Our residents have continued to take great pride in our garden too, helping to water, tidy and care for the outdoor space so everyone can enjoy it throughout the summer🌿🌸

And of course, no month would be complete without live music! A huge thank you to the wonderful Johnny, who once again had everyone smiling, singing and enjoying a fantastic morning of entertainment🎶

As always, thank you to our residents, families, entertainers and visitors who help make The Manor House such a special place to call home. Here's to another month of making memories together💜

Stalls are just £5 each, with all proceeds going directly to our activities fund, helping us continue to provide meaningful and enjoyable experiences for our residents💜

☀️🌻Some days are just too hot!🌻☀️

On this extremely sunny bank holiday Monday, today was all about taking things slowly, looking after ourselves and making sure everyone stayed hydrated with plenty of water💧💛

This morning, we replanted our pea plant, which has been looking a little sorry for itself lately - but with a little TLC and sunshine, we're hoping it will soon flourish again 🌱

Just before lunch, we got creative and built a makeshift slingshot using two water bottles and a face mask. Creativity is definitely the key to good fun here at The Manor House WSM 🎯😀 While our aim may not have been perfect, there was certainly plenty of laughter along the way.

After lunch, a few brave residents ventured out into the sunshine to enjoy some delicious ice creams in the garden 🍦☀️

Days like today are all about knowing our limits, keeping cool and staying safe in the heat - while still making the most of the sunshine, which always seems to lift everyone's spirits a little brighter😊💜

☕️💜Supportive Coffee Morning & Group Activities at The Manor House WSM💜☕️

Today's Supportive Coffee Morning brought residents together for some incredibly open and honest conversations about their experiences of living in care - reflecting on the differences between life before and life now.

While everyone's journey is unique, the similarities in their stories remind us just how important friendship, understanding and supporting one another can be. The morning was filled with honestly, positivity and discussions about struggles residents faced when first moving into care, alongside the comfort and connection they have found since🌸

This afternoon's activity was inspired by the classic game Mouse Trap! Using everyday household items, we created our own challenge using a container, a fork and some string.

Residents had to use quick reactions and hand-eye coordination to trap the balls by pulling the string to release the fork. Activities like these show how creativity can turn simple items into a fun, engaging and inclusive games that everyone can enjoy💜

Today was all about looking after the mind, body and soul - through conversation, connection, movement and laughter🌷

The next supportive Coffee Morning will be on Tuesday 9th June

🌸A gentle Monday at The Manor House WSM🌸

Today was all about slowing down and enjoying the simple pleasures together💜

We started the week gently with puzzles, reading, crochet, cups of tea and plenty of lovely conversation☕️📚🧩🧶 There's something truly special about spending time together in these quieter moments - sharing stories, chatting and enjoying activities that bring comfort and familiarity to our residents.

To finish off the day with welcome back Tori from G Fittness who led a wonderful session of armchair exercises for our residents💪🌼 A lovely way to keep active, have fun and end the day with plenty of smiles.

🌸Family Mornings at The Manor House WSM🌸

Today was a beautiful, sunny morning and it truly felt like summer is just round the corner!☀️🌻

While many were out enjoying the sun, we would like to say a heartfelt thank you to the family members who joined us - your time and presence mean so much to your loved ones💜

It was especially lovely to see families getting involved in the garden, watering plants and even helping to clean the pond. Moments like these really show the care and connection that make The Manor House feel like a true home🌿

Seeing family members take pride in their loved one's surroundings - just as they would have done in their own gardens - is so special. Living in a care home doesn't mean those meaningful, familiar moments have to stop; they simply continue in a new and supportive environment🌷

A morning filled with sunshine, kindness and togetherness💛
