International Youth Day is an opportunity to recognise the voices, experiences and potential of young people, while reflecting on the role we all have in creating environments where they can feel safe, supported and able to grow.

Our commitment to young people extends beyond the care we provide. We are proud to support local groups, clubs and charities that create opportunities for young people to grow, connect and thrive, both here in the UK and overseas.

Because creating positive opportunities for young people is something we all have a part in.

Whether it is through education, sport and community activities, or simply being someone who believes in a young person’s potential, we can all help young people see what might be possible for their future.

We want young people to know that their voices matter, their strengths are worth recognising, and their communities believe in them.

We are incredibly proud to support Baby Bank Network and the amazing work they do to help families experiencing poverty or crisis.

The release of their latest impact report highlights the incredible difference they continue to make within the community. Their work has made a real impact on so many lives, providing families with essential items and valuable support at a time when they need it most.

A huge congratulations to the Baby Bank Network team, volunteers, and everyone involved in making this vital work possible. Your dedication and compassion continue to change lives and strengthen our community.

We are grateful to be involved with such an important cause and look forward to continuing to support and celebrate the important work Baby Bank Network does.

⭐️Our 2026 Impact Report is here

In the last year, we've helped 1,437 Bristol families going through a tough time, by providing essentials such as toiletries, clothes, blankets – plus a safe place to sleep – for their babies and young children.

The result? 96% of families told us that, thanks to support from Baby Bank, they feel less stressed about providing for their baby.

But the real story is in the voices behind the stats, which you’ll find in the report. Here’s what one family told us:

"This has come at such a tricky time, but has really filled a hole we weren't sure we would get out of without support.”

We’re really grateful to every one of you who’s supported us this year. Thank you🧡

Food banks play a vital role in supporting people and families in our communities who may be experiencing hardship by providing access to essential food and everyday items.

We are proud to support this important work through our weekly company donations throughout the year, but this September we are coming together as a team to do even more.

To mark National Food Bank Day, we will be making a special additional donation, bringing together items donated by our team and local community, alongside extra supplies purchased through funds raised at our internal events.

Over the past few years, we have been building a valued partnership with our local food bank, and we are proud to continue strengthening that relationship by visiting to deliver donations and offer our time to help organise and distribute items.

This partnership gives us a greater understanding of the challenges faced by many people and reminds us that, together, we can make a meaningful difference. It reflects our commitment to giving back to our community and living our Ubuntu values, recognising that we are stronger when we support one another.

We are inviting our team and local community to get involved by donating non-perishable food, toiletries, and everyday essentials. Every contribution, whether big or small, can provide practical support, comfort, and reassurance to someone who needs it.

Donating is also a simple way to help reduce food waste by ensuring good quality, unused items reach people who need them rather than going to waste.

📍 Please bring any donations into the office by Friday 28th August.

Thank you for your kindness and generosity.

Last week, we had the pleasure of welcoming Zo to our office for work experience. Throughout the week, it was wonderful to see her enthusiasm, willingness to learn, and confidence continue to grow.

We are incredibly proud of what Zo has shared about her experience with us. Creating a supportive environment where people can learn, develop, and feel valued is something we are passionate about.

World Youth Skills Day reminded us of the shared responsibility we all have to give young people opportunities to explore, learn and develop new skills.

We are privileged to have welcomed a number of young people to our office for his school work experience placements, including Alfie, who kindly shared his recent experience with us.

It has been wonderful to see him spend time with our team, learn more about the different roles within care, and gain an insight into the values, teamwork and commitment that sit behind the support we provide.

A huge thank you to Alfie for bringing such enthusiasm, curiosity and positivity into our office. We are incredibly proud that his experience has strengthened his interest in a future career in care.

Creating opportunities for young people is not just about work experience. It is about helping them discover their strengths, build confidence and see the difference they can make.

We wish Alfie every success for the future and thank our team for creating welcoming environments where young people can feel supported and inspired.

Net Zero Week reminds us that every positive action, no matter how small, can help reduce carbon emissions and build a more sustainable future.

Whether it's reducing waste, using energy more efficiently, travelling more sustainably, or making thoughtful purchasing decisions, small changes can have a lasting impact when we all play our part.

As part of our ongoing commitment to the environment, we're continually exploring ways to reduce our environmental impact across our services because creating a healthier future means caring for both people and the planet.

Together, we can make meaningful changes that strengthen our communities today while helping to protect the world for future generations.

We have enjoyed celebrating Pride this month, and it has been a meaningful reminder of identity, belonging, and the importance of recognising every person as a valued part of our wider community.

Every individual deserves to be supported in a way that respects who they are, how they identify, and how they experience the world, whether that is within healthcare, the workplace, or everyday life.

When inclusion is genuinely embedded, it reaches far beyond individual care and into the culture of teams, organisations, and communities. It shapes how we communicate, how we listen, and how we show up for one another.

Let’s keep the spirit of Pride going all year. Everyone should feel seen, valued, and able to belong exactly as they are, not just in June, but in every space they enter and every interaction they have.

Following the successful delivery of donations to Ntshamathe Clinic in Sigola, Zimbabwe, we are already preparing the next phase of support, collecting further supplies and working alongside our partners to continue investing in the future of the clinic and the community it serves.

Ntshamathe Clinic plays a vital role as a first point of access to healthcare for the local community, particularly given that the nearest hospital is too far away to reach in an emergency. While the clinic continues to deliver care with dedication, compassion, and resilience, it does so in the face of ongoing challenges, including limited resources, equipment, infrastructure, and staff facilities.

In partnership with the Joshua Masilela Foundation, we are committed to supporting the ongoing development of Ntshamathe Clinic by helping to meet future equipment needs, improve facilities, and work towards longer-term priorities such as suitable accommodation for healthcare professionals.

We are currently seeking practical items that can help support the day-to-day running of the clinic and the wellbeing of patients, including baby clothing and blankets, nappies, baby wipes, maternity and sanitary products, PPE, sterilising supplies, and other essential healthcare items.

We would also love to hear from anyone travelling to Africa who may be able to assist with transporting supplies, or from anyone with ideas, connections, fundraising opportunities, or other ways to support this project.

Thank you to everyone who has supported this initiative so far. Your generosity is already helping to make a meaningful difference.
