Important information from Weymouth Town Council

Weymouth Town Council has just launched a public survey to capture people’s views on proposed 20mph speed limits in eight areas in Weymouth and want to reach as many people as possible to share their views.

The focus of the Phase One engagement is on areas around local schools, with the aim of making it safer and easier for children, families and residents to walk, wheel and cycle.

The eight residential areas include Coombe Valley, Littlemoor, Lodmoor South, Radipole, Southill, a Town Centre Extension, and two areas in Wyke Regis, one East of Portland Road, and one West of Portland Road.

more information including the survey with maps showing the proposed areas can be found on Weymouth Town Councils Website Comments on the survey close on Monday 20th July.

Loneliness is a feeling most of us will experience - but stigma stops us from talking about it and prevents us from facing it together. That’s why the campaign tagline for Loneliness Awareness Week 2026 was Meeting Loneliness Together. By talking about loneliness openly and meeting it together, we can reduce stigma and build more compassionate, connected communities.

Diabetes Week is a week to make some noise, raise awareness and shout about the things that matter to people with diabetes, shining a light on what it’s like to live with day in, day out. And this Diabetes Week, we’re continuing our campaign to Strike Out Stigma.
Stigma causes harm, wherever it comes from. And that’s not ok. Because blame and judgement stop people getting the support they deserve, and the care they need.

Carers Week is an annual campaign to raise awareness of caring, highlight the challenges unpaid carers face and recognise the contribution they make to families and communities throughout the UK. It also helps people who don't think of themselves as having caring responsibilities to identify as carers and access much-needed support.😊

March is Ovarian Cancer Awareness month, and we are supporting Wessex Cancer Alliance to help raise awareness and encourage women to know the signs of ovarian cancer and contact their GP if they are concerned. We want more women to be diagnosed at an earlier stage, when treatment and outcomes are more likely to be successful.
Find out more about the signs, symptoms of Ovarian Cancer and organisations that can support you, on the dedicated website; Cancer Matters Wessex www.cancermatterswessex.nhs.uk/ovarian-cancer 🌈✨🌸
