This one got us πŸ’œ

Doreen shares what having Kingsley Home Care support means to her β€” in her own words, from the heart.

And the thing she keeps coming back to? The chatting. The company. The carer who walks through the door and genuinely wants to know how she is.

Because that's the thing about home care that people don't always expect. Yes we help with the practical things. But it's the conversation over a cup of tea, the familiar face that makes someone feel seen and less alone β€” that's what makes the real difference.

Thank you Doreen for sharing your story so honestly and so beautifully. We are incredibly proud to support you πŸ’š

If you or a loved one could benefit from a little extra support at home β€” and someone to have a good chat with β€” we would love to hear from you.

What you don't know about care at home πŸ’œ

Gerri, one of our brilliant branch managers at Kingsley Home Care, is sharing the things most people don't realise about home care and why it might just be the best decision you ever make for someone you love.

Most people come to home care not knowing what to expect. They worry it means losing independence, having strangers in the house, or settling for something that doesn't really fit.

What they find is something completely different.

Familiar faces. Flexible support. Care that's built entirely around the person, their routines, their preferences, their life. That's what makes Kingsley Homecare different.

And that's what Gerri explains better than anyone. If you've been wondering whether home care is the right option -

If someone you love is living with dementia, save this one πŸ’œ

Hannah, our Waveney Valley Branch Manager and accredited Dementia Friend with the Alzheimer's Society is sharing some of the things that genuinely help people living with dementia day to day.

Small things. Consistent things. The kind of things that don't cost anything but make an enormous difference to how someone feels, how settled they are, and how much they're able to enjoy each day.

Because good dementia care isn't just about managing symptoms. It's about helping someone live well - in every sense of the word.

We hope this is helpful for anyone supporting a loved one with dementia right now πŸ™‚

Supporting Our Community Beyond Care πŸ’œ

At Kingsley Home Care West Dorset, we believe that being part of a community means showing up for it in every way we can.

This week, our very own Kate paid a visit to the incredible team at The Sanctuary Crisis Intervention Hub and Cozy Corner in Portland to donate some goodies.

The Sanctuary is a free, non-profit service providing vital face-to-face mental health crisis support a warm, welcoming community space for anyone in Portland and the surrounding areas who needs it. The work they do is truly invaluable, and we are so proud to support them in whatever way we can πŸ’™
