🌾 Lughnasadh Blessings to All!
As the wheel turns once again, we reach the first of the harvest festivals. Lughnasadh, also known as Lammas or Gŵyl Awst, is a time to pause and honour what is ripening, both around us in the land and within us in our own lives.
This ancient festival invites us to give thanks: for the work we’ve done, the sacrifices we have made, the growth we’ve nurtured, and the fruits (tangible or intangible) that are beginning to come into fullness. It’s a moment to notice what’s coming to fruition in our spiritual journey, in our creative work, or in the seeds of intention we planted earlier in the year.
Traditionally, this was a time of community gathering, of dancing, feasting, climbing sacred hills, and celebrating the life-giving energy of the sun. And so too now, we can ask: What am I harvesting this season? How might I celebrate this with others?
May this Lughnasadh bring you a deep sense of gratitude, a moment to honour your harvest, and joy in sharing that with your community, however that looks in your life.
