John Corner Funeral Service Ltd are independent family funeral directors based at Low Hawsker, Whitb

John Corner funeral service limited is a professional and sympathetic service from a local, long established independent family business of over 38 years. We have served the local community by providing help and guidance which we hope to uphold the fine tradition of care, respect and understanding that has become the hallmark of our well established family business that has been built on trust and recommendation. We pride ourselves in giving each family the highest standard of service at all times. John Corner and his wife Edith took over the local funeral business in 1975 where John worked his apprentice with the previous owner. He has continued to run it under his own name as a family concern for the past 38 years. His daughter Wendy and husband Kevin have now taking over the running of things as they have done since 2010. We are a dedicated team who are there to offer families all the support, assistance and much needed reassurance and sympathy that they need at this sad and difficult time of upset and worry. Peacefully on 19th October in James Cook Hospital, Violet, aged 93 years (formerly of Hinderwell). Devoted wife and best friend of the late George, dearest mum of David, Michael and Lynda, and a much loved grandma and great grandma.

Beloved wife of the late Dr Frederick Stephenson, loving mother of Kate, Simon, Polly and the late Emma, mother in law of Patrik and Roseanne, proud and devoted granny of Robert, Nathan, Foxton, Ripley, Oli, Maya and Alfie, and sister of Paul.

Peacefully in Hospital on 9th October, with her loving family by her side, Ann, aged 78 years, of Goathland. Dearly loved wife of Robert (Bob), much loved mum of Jason, Debbie, Tracey and Lisa, mother in law of Mark, Steve and Adam, and a devoted grandma of Joshua, Lewis and Niamh.

Service will be held at Scarborough Crematorium on Thursday 12th November at 12.00 noon for family and close friends, followed by a memorial service to celebrate Ann's life at St Mary's Church, Goathland at 2.30pm.

Sadly passed away on 8th October, in Calderdale Royal Hospital, Halifax, aged 76 years.
Devoted, caring and loyal wife to Stewart, loving mother to Melanie, Karl and Nathalie, and grandmother to her 5 grandchildren, also a dear sister to Elizabeth, Joanna, Jean and Peter. She will be sorely missed by her family and friends who knew her and will remain forever in their hearts.
