Last year you lovely people helped us win an award. 😍On the 21st September 2025 we won 'Pet Funeral Provider of the Year' at the Good Funeral Awards. We are both incredibly proud of this award but we couldn't have done it without your nominations. Can we do it again? Is it possible that we could bring this award back to our lovely little crematorium for the second time? We would both like to think so. 😀 If you are able to nominate us the judges are looking for good quality nomination statements that describe what we have done to go above and beyond, or what makes our service stand out from others. The more detail you can give to the judges the better.

TOMORROW IS THE DAY 😱 🔒

At 1pm tomorrow I’ll be locked in a stray dog kennel for a minimum of 16 hours.

Followers, those of you that have been here a while know we aren’t just a dog care company but work with dogs in rescue kennels near & far to better their lives in any way we can think of.

We work with a number of rescues and have done many fundraisers in the past.

So why am I focusing on Birch Hill Dog Rescue with The Kennel Sentence?

Birch Hill rescue are a handful of people who volunteer day in and day out no matter what. They don’t have the funds other rescues have, the volunteer dog walkers others have, the social media presence others have.. most importantly Birch Hill don’t have the kennels others have.

This is what I’m trying to change.

Despite this, the work Birch Hill do is literally life saving. The dogs others turn away. The less popular breeds. The big dogs. The dogs that are on a 7 day count down in dog pounds. Dogs with health issues that cost them so much money to get them right.

& they never give up on these dogs. Constantly trying to make their lives better. They won’t give up on the dogs that have bitten. They won’t give up on the dogs that, years after arriving, still have no interest. But they won’t write them off either.. dogs that have spent so long there are never considered unhomeable, and never denied their chance.

Birch Hill is home to many dogs that deserve the very best whilst they wait for their chance. It’s a huge mission for even the biggest rescues to tackle, never mind a smaller one.. This is why I’m trying to help.

Goodness, I just went outside the crematorium. "It's looking a bit black over Bill's mother's" as Ken would say. 🌦️🌩️💨
