To honour the start of the European Athletics Championships, residents, visitors and staff participated in our own games championship, Wessex Lodge style 🏆

Light up crazy golf and shot put bean bag throw were the games on offer with plenty of friendly competition along the way💪

It was a musical afternoon for everyone here at Wessex lodge with entertainment provided by singer Michelle🎤

It is a well known fact that our residents and staff love a good old sing song as well as a boogie and as you can see, Christopher took to the floor to show off his impressive dance moves🕺

Yesterday, we celebrated Ray's birthday with a delicious home-baked cake 🎂, sang Happy Birthday 🎶, and presented him with a birthday card ❤️.

As Friday is traditionally "fish day", Ray enjoyed his favourite curry meal on Thursday instead. A little bird has told us that the birthday treats will continue on Monday!

You deserve to be thoroughly spoilt, Ray. Happy Birthday once again! 🥰

Did someone say balloon racing?!🤔😃

After bingo this afternoon, our residents participated in balloon racing, an idea that our team leader Sharon, thought of🎈

The idea is for the residents to pull long newspaper trains using their feet towards them.
Whoever is the quickest and pops their balloon first, is the winner🏆

Staff members Jade, Christina and Gemma along with Sharon were on hand to provide encouragement, support and lots of cheering to all of our residents who took part👍

This is a fun activity combining sensory, coordination and social benefits for our residents🫶

Wessex Lodge Family Day❤️

The sun shone for our family day this afternoon☀️

Family Day is a wonderful opportunity to bring our residents, their families, our staff and the wider community together🙏

Head chef Jack and kitchen assistant Mike did a fantastic job of providing a yummy BBQ for everyone today🍔🌭

The Madam Mayor Tracy Woodruff of Whitchurch gave a heartfelt speech and kindly opened the afternoon for us🙏

Entertainment was provided by the wonderful The Spitfire Sisters🎤

A big thank you to Sonny Jim's ice cream van🍦

Finally, an extra special thank you to all of our amazing staff members, friends, volunteers residents, their families and the wider community for supporting our family day, we are beyond grateful🫶

Christina and Gemma made sure that all of our residents stayed cool this afternoon with ice creams for everyone 😀

As you can see from the smiling faces, it was definitely well received😀

This afternoon, Sherlyn, Gemma, Christina and Yolanda accompanied Carol, Judith, Julia, Diana, Raymond and Donald to Hillier's Garden Centre in Andover☀️

Our good friend Ryan from Alexander & Dry Funeral Directors joined us and chauffeured us to and from the centre in a beautiful limousine whilst Sherlyn also chauffeured, and drove Judith and Rolanda in her beautiful jag🙏

Everyone enjoyed a cup of tea or coffee and a choice of peach cake, fruit cake or millionaire shortbread🍰

Julia even bumped into one of her friends, Sarah, who also happened to be our waitress⭐

After all the cakes and drinks had been consumed, it was time for more karaoke singing on the way home🎶

Our thanks and appreciation to Ryan and the lovely cafe staff at Hilliers. We are very grateful🫶
