The Bread and Butter Thing is a low-cost food club helping local people access good quality groceries at affordable prices. Weekly shopping bags include fresh fruit and veg, fridge favourites and cupboard staples, all made possible through surplus food donations from supermarkets, food manufacturers and farmers.

Meet the Team - Demi-Leigh McMahon

We are pleased to welcome Demi, who joined Uplands Medical Practice at the beginning of April. Since starting, she has been settling in well, getting to know the team, and becoming familiar with the day‑to‑day life of the practice. Her positive attitude and willingness to learn have already made a strong impression.

Demi is a local resident who grew up in Radcliffe, giving her a strong connection to the community we serve. Outside of work, she is a dedicated mum to her three year old daughter, who keeps her busy and brings a great deal of joy to her life.

When she has time to herself, Demi enjoys going to the gym and watching football, two activities that help her unwind and stay active. She is a committed supporter of Bury FC, regularly attending matches and taking pride in following the team’s progress.

When asked who she would most like to meet one day, Demi chose Eminem, one of her favourite music artists. She also shared a lesser‑known fact about herself: she is a qualified nail technician.

We are delighted to have Demi as part of our team and look forward to the valuable contribution she will make to the practice and our patients.

The campaign provides information on what signs and symptoms to look out for, when to seek advice, and where to find support.

Friends & Family Feedback – May 2026

The Friends & Family Test helps us understand what patients think about the care and service they receive at The Uplands Medical Practice.

In May 2026, the majority of patients who completed the survey reported a positive experience. Overall, 68% rated their experience as "Very Good" and a further 17% rated it as "Good". This means that 85% of respondents gave positive feedback about the service they received.

We are grateful to everyone who takes the time to share their views. Patient feedback helps us recognise what we are doing well and identify areas where we can continue to improve our services.

In order to provide the right care at the right times, GP Practices have changed the way they work. In GP Practices you will now find a wider team of specialists and professionals working together to help and care for you.

Having a larger team of clinicians means there are more opportunities for your needs to be prioritised, helping you getting assessed sooner and receive the support you need without delay. In many cases, a GP isn’t the most appropriate person to see first, another clinician may be better placed to help you quickly and effectively.
