Voting in the first stage of the Cumbria Baby & Children’s Business Awards has officially closed.
We would like to extend a sincere thank you to everyone who took the time to vote and show their support for the fantastic businesses taking part this year.
VOTE VERIFICATION
Today, our team began the process of reviewing and verifying all votes received.
As part of these checks, 176 duplicate votes were identified.
In accordance with the voting rules published at the start of the voting period, only one voting submission is permitted per person. Where an individual has submitted more than one voting form, all submissions associated with that individual are removed from the final count.
With duplicate submissions now removed, we will begin carefully reviewing and counting all remaining votes. Each submission will be checked to ensure it meets the voting criteria before the final results are confirmed.
We take this process extremely seriously and want to ensure that every business is treated fairly and consistently throughout.
🏆 FINALIST ANNOUNCEMENT
Our official Live Finalist Announcement will take place:
📅 Sunday 4th October 2026
⏰ 7:00pm
💻 Live via Microsoft Teams
During the live event, we will reveal the businesses that have secured their place as official finalists in the Cumbria Baby & Children’s Business Awards.
Further information, including details on how to join, will be released closer to the date.
If you are unable to attend the live announcement, there is no need to worry. The full list of finalists will be published on our page following the event.
From the following day, we will also begin contacting finalists directly by email with official confirmation and information regarding the next stage of the awards.
🎟️ AWARDS CEREMONY & TICKETS
The award ceremony will be held on Saturday 20th February 2027.
Following the finalist announcement, ticket sales for the awards ceremony will officially open.
The awards evening will include:

🍽️ Three-course meal
🏆 Awards ceremony
🎶 Evening entertainment

Full details regarding the ceremony and ticket sales will be released following the finalist announcement.
We also currently have a number of sponsorship opportunities available.

IMPORTANT UPDATE TO FINAL VOTING RULES
Ahead of the final voting stage, we are introducing an additional rule regarding the promotion and sharing of voting links.
We fully encourage finalists to promote their achievement and seek support from their customers, clients, followers and wider networks. However, to maintain a fair and consistent voting process, mass promotion within third-party community groups will not be permitted during the final voting stage.
Permitted promotion includes:
✓ Sharing the voting link on your personal social media profile.
✓ Sharing through your business’s own social media pages and accounts.
✓ Asking your customers, clients, families, followers and supporters to vote.
✓ Displaying posters, flyers or QR codes within your premises.
✓ Providing voting information directly to customers or individuals who use or have used your services.
✓ Including voting information within your own business emails, newsletters or customer communications.
The following will not be permitted:
✗ Posting or sharing the voting link within Facebook community groups, local groups, selling groups, parenting groups or other third-party groups for the purpose of requesting votes.
✗ Asking or encouraging friends, family members, employees or supporters to post within these groups on your behalf.
✗ Mass-posting or promoting voting links within groups or communities outside of your own personal or business platforms.
The purpose of this rule is to ensure that the final results reflect genuine support for each finalist and their business, rather than the outcome being disproportionately influenced by mass canvassing within unrelated online communities.
We recognise that it is not possible to determine the source of every individual vote. Therefore, enforcement of this rule will relate to the promotion itself rather than individual votes.
Where evidence of prohibited promotion is brought to our attention, the finalist may be required to remove the content immediately. Repeated, deliberate or serious breaches of the voting rules may result in disqualification from the final voting stage.
This rule applies equally to all finalists, and we ask that businesses ensure anyone promoting on their behalf is also aware of these requirements.
Further information and the full rules for the final voting stage will be issued to all finalists before voting opens.
For now, our attention turns to the careful verification and counting of the votes.
