Haven't posted anything on here about poetry, tea and chat for ages.
We had a lovely afternoon today. 8 of us who braved temperatures of over 30deg to come together to read poetry, have a laugh at Gill's tale of how she got stuck in her lift in her own home and the lovely neighbours who came to her aid at 2.00am, eat cake and generally enjoy each other's company.
Roger even set to with the hoover at the end as there seemed to be cake crumbs in abundance. He then escorted Joyce home in the same caring way that he had called for her and brought her along.
A group of lovely people, but we have room for more if you want to join us.

Nobody wants to spend hours cooking when the sun is shining. Lots of "quick" recipe books to give you some ideas of tasty, healthy meals that can be cooked in minutes.

A reminder of this exhibition.
Jean Bonnin has done 2 very well attended talks here in 'Oasis" so I am sure this will be very interesting and, well worth a visit.

I just want to let you all know that today Dave started 8 weeks of chemotherapy. I have to warn you that we will not be making too much effort to stick to our usual opening times during this period. We will have to work around medical appointments and will also want to take any opportunity when Dave is feeling well enough to maybe go off walking, or just spend some time working in the garden together.
On the other hand experience tells me that if we don't have an "Oasis" to escape to when needed we could end up coming to blows!
Basically I'm asking you all to bear with us being totally unreliable, but hope that if the door is open you will come in for a chat and maybe a cuppa, and hopefully restore our sanity. It would be nice if you went away with some books too!
Many thanks for your understanding.
Sheila and Dave.
