My WhatsApp notifications currently sit at several hundred unread. I genuinely need to hire someone with a snow plough just to dig through it. Someone saw the red notifications plastered all over my Home Screen the other way and winced 😖🤦🏼♀️
That’s not a joke I’m using lightly. It’s what happens when I get so swept up in the juggle of home, kids and running this business that I stop giving myself time to come up for air, summer holidays have me grinding to a halt. I’ve not even given myself enough time to check in with the people I care for the most. When did I let it all slip?
The last few weeks have looked like that. Scattered. Forgetting the basics. Telling myself it was just a busy season.
Then I sat down to write my twelve week reflection for my breathwork course and it hit me, the breathwork had slipped at exactly the same time as everything else that keeps me steady. Journaling. Walking. Even little things like my skincare rituals (obsessed with Korean skincare products IYKYK). All of it fell away together. That’s not a coincidence.
So I’m implementing an intervention on myself 🚨 Taking the reins back. Shuffling things around so breathwork and self care sit back on the priorities list, not the afterthought I only reach for once I’m already too tired to do anything about it.
I wrote the whole thing out, the slipping, the noticing, what discipline and self trust have actually taught me these past twelve weeks. It’s on the blog now if you want the full version.
