Last week was 💖 World Breastfeeding Week💖

Breastfeeding has become a much bigger part of my life than I ever expected, and it started with my own feeding journeys (all 3 children in some combination for a total of 8 years now!!)

Like so many mamas, I discovered quickly that feeding a baby isn't as easy as you think.

There are wobbles, lots of questions and moments where you wonder if what's happening is normal.

There are times when you need to vent, times when you need to stand up for yourself and times where you need someone to listen, reassure and support you.

My own experiences are a huge part of why I became a breastfeeding peer supporter - first I wanted people to have the positive experience I did, and then I wanted to help them overcome the same struggles I went through (feeding after a C Section, postnatal depression, cow's milk protein allergy and oversupply to make a few!)

That's why as Hushabye Hands we sponsor a free local breastfeeding community, Latch & Love, because we know how important it is for local families to have somewhere to ask questions, find reassurance and have someone to listen to them without judgment.

It's also woven directly into Hushabye Hands too - I'm so so proud that every class leader is a qualified breastfeeding peer supporter. That doesn't mean our classes are suddenly breastfeeding clinics, but you can feel reassured that when you walk into a class, however you feed your baby is considered normal.

You can breastfeed without feeling awkward.
You can ask questions if you're worried about something.
You can have a wobble.
You can talk about combination feeding, expressing, weaning or whatever else you're going through.

And you'll be met with kindness and understanding.

Because supporting parents has always been at the heart of Hushabye Hands. Not telling you what your parenting journey should look like, but making sure you don't have to navigate it feeling alone.

⭐Why have I changed the way families join Hushabye Hands? ⭐

Quite simply, I wanted to make it easier.

Easier to budget, with the same £28 payment each month rather than different amounts every term.

Easier to stay, because your little one’s weekly place is reserved and you don’t have to keep remembering to rebook.

And easier to become part of the community, because you can keep coming to the same familiar class with the same familiar faces.

You’ll still have the flexibility you need, with no long fixed-term contract and one calendar month’s notice when it’s time to leave.

New families can begin with a 3 week trial for £24, giving you time to experience Hushabye Hands before continuing monthly.

Because joining a baby or toddler class should feel supportive, not like another piece of life admin 💜

Because our classes are about so much more than filling time.

They’re a chance to slow down, bond with your little one, support their development and meet other parents in a warm, welcoming space.

Our groups are small, relaxed and inclusive, with no pressure for babies or toddlers to sit still, join in perfectly or behave a certain way.

You’ll learn songs, signs and activities you can use at home, while becoming part of a familiar community that grows together each week.

This weekend marked my third business birthday since I took over Hushabye Hands! 🥳❤️

And honestly… what an insanely incredible three years it has been.

We’ve found our gorgeous permanent home at the Hushabye Hideaway, created new classes, introduced birthday parties and welcomed two wonderful team members.

I’ve watched my very first group of Baby Massage mamas stay friends, support one another and now have their second babies together 🥹

I’ve welcomed mamas back with new babies, watched families stay with us for years and seen so many beautiful friendships grow through our classes.

We’ve worked with local nurseries, UK-wide charities and local councils to provide sessions to as many families as possible. We’ve sponsored a breastfeeding peer support group, added new opportunities for babies, toddlers and parents, and even won a few awards along the way.

Most recently, we’ve updated the way families join Hushabye Hands, making it easier to book, stay connected and keep their regular weekly space 🤩

But the most important part of Hushabye Hands has always been the people.

Thank you to every single family who has walked through our doors, recommended us, supported us, trusted us with your little ones or become part of our community.

You are all incredible, and I just wouldn’t be celebrating three years without you.

Here’s to everything we’ve created so far… and everything still to come 💜✨
