One of the things I’m most passionate about as a Solution Focused Hypnotherapist is making sure I provide the very best support possible for my clients.

That’s why regular supervision, ongoing CPD (Continuing Professional Development), and maintaining membership with professional organisations such as the AfSFH (where I am also the Head of Finance), NCH, and CNHC are so important to me.

The world of mental wellbeing is constantly evolving. By keeping my knowledge and skills up to date, I can continue to offer evidence-based support that helps clients manage anxiety, reduce stress, and build greater resilience.

Supervision also gives me a dedicated space to reflect on my work, gain professional guidance, and ensure I’m always working safely, ethically, and effectively.

The great thing is, the learning never stops! Every course, training session, supervision meeting, and professional discussion helps me grow as a therapist and ultimately benefits the people who place their trust in me.

I’m super excited to be putting together my first CPD, enabling me to support my fellow hypnotherapists too!

When you choose a therapist, it’s worth looking at their professional memberships and commitment to ongoing development. It’s one of the ways we demonstrate our dedication to providing the highest standard of care.

One of the things clients love most about Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is that they don’t have to spend sessions reliving difficult experiences.

Instead, we focus on reducing stress, building resilience, and creating positive change. As the stress bucket empties, the nervous system becomes more regulated, making it easier to cope with life’s challenges and feel more like yourself again.

And yes—most clients leave feeling noticeably lighter, calmer, and more positive than when they arrived.

If you’d like some support, drop my a message and we can chat ☺️

Sometimes we need to step backwards to move forwards again.

Life changes, we get busy and the things that we enjoy, that we’re passionate about, get pushed to the sideline.

I see this very often in my practice and will always encourage my clients to think about the hobbies and interests they used to love that they have stopped doing, OR things they’ve always thought about trying but have never taken that first step!

For myself, that’s running, I used to run marathons in GFA time and take part in ultras before having children and for a while I thought I didn’t have time to run anymore because I wanted to spend as much time with my family and the perfectionist in me expected myself to still go as far and as fast as I used to otherwise it would feel “pointless”.

I soon realised that I LOVE running regardless, it helps me mentally as much as physically and now I run only 10-20 miles a week but appreciate every single one of them and I also can’t wait for the kids to join me on my runs when they’re a bit bigger.

Life changes, so do our schedules but that doesn’t mean we need to give up on the things we love, we mostly just need to adjust the scope 🥰

So I’d love for you to ask yourself today:“What hobby or activity used to make me feel more like ME?”

And how could you reintroduce a smaller version of it into your life this week?

Drop a comment below to let me know what you decide, I’d love to hear 🫶🏽 ⬇️ ⬇️

I’ve been quiet on here the past couple of weeks as we’ve had a lot going on with work and personal things.

🌟 Fully booked in my client hours and operating with a waiting list for a couple of months now (forever thankful 😌)
🌟 Fulfilling my role as Head of Finance for the AfSFH hypnotherapy association
🌟 Increasing my running again, even did a race in April with the hubby!
🌟 Family birthdays which includes cake making!
🌟 Hospital visits
🌟 Prepping for a corporate talk on anxiety and stress management
🌟 Putting together my first CPD
🌟 Enjoying baking with Saffy (my sourdough starter 😂)
🌟 Walking more when the car broke down which was lovely and enjoyable but obviously more time consuming!
🌟 Additional admin/phone calls for the car
🌟 Socialising with friends and family
🌟 General family stuff; walks in the woods, arts and crafts and finally being able to take the kids swimming since Tommy having his cast off
🌟 house cleaning since our cleaner sacked us 🤦🏽‍♀️

All of these things are either enjoyable things or uncontrollable stressors but either way even the enjoyable things have stressors attached to them. These are the stressors that tend to go unnoticed, and for me I know my biggest stressor is rushing.

When we rush from one activity to the next we activate the fight/flight response, doing this continuously can soon start to wreak havoc with our nervous system!

I’m so thankful to learn from the job I do, so putting my solution focused head on I decided to make a few tweaks and control what I could:
🌟 I took a day off work to alleviate time pressures
🌟 my husband and I share out the To-Do list and decide on one task to do each day
🌟 we put aside the tasks that aren’t urgent (social media posts being one of them for me)
🌟 we put together a cleaning rota to tackle one room a day (not that we’re keeping up with that 😂)
🌟 Be kind to myself about the things that haven’t been completed and focus on the daily wins!

I’m not perfect at it but it does help me to enjoy the days relatively stress-free!

🌟 🌟 Another 5 star review from a wonderful client 🌟 🌟

I’m always so taken aback when I receive a Google review, I feel privileged that my clients have chosen to work with me and trust me to support them towards their preferred future 🙏

Solution Focused Hypnotherapy sessions encourage small changes, made consistently, to create that preferred future!

If you’re looking to make positive changes but feel unsure where to start, drop me a message, I’d love to support you! ☺️

Have a great Sunday ☀️

Most people know fight, flight, and freeze… but what about FAWN?

Fawning is a stress response where we cope by people-pleasing, over-accommodating, and putting others’ needs ahead of our own to stay safe. It often shows up when our nervous system feels overwhelmed—like our “stress bucket” is already full and we’re just trying to avoid conflict or rejection.

✨ Signs of fawning:
– Struggling to say no
– Over-apologising
– Feeling responsible for others’ emotions
– Ignoring your own needs to keep the peace

This response usually develops when we’ve learned that approval equals safety. An unregulated nervous system will choose whatever feels like the quickest way to reduce threat—even if it means abandoning ourselves.

What helps?:
– Start noticing when you’re saying “yes” but mean “no”
– Pause before responding (buy yourself time)
– Practice small, honest boundaries (this may feel uncomfortable at first but ride with it)
– Regulate your nervous system (breath, grounding, rest)

Discomfort does not mean danger and doing things for yourself is NOT selfish.

You don’t have to earn your worth by overgiving.

If you’d like some support in taking back control, drop me a message.

Thanks,

I hear this a lot when I tell people I’m a hypnotherapist.

Unfortunately people have seen stage hypnosis and think that my sessions will be something similar.

Hopefully this explanation of what happens during trance (hypnosis), the science behind it, will help to eliminate those fears.

20/03/2026

🌟 This week in my practice I have been busy supporting clients between the ages of 8 and 75 with a mixture of online and face-to-face sessions at my cosy practice in Whitwick, Leicestershire.

Hypnotherapy can be fantastic for supporting with a whole range of things (predominantly anything that’s exasperated by anxiety)

If you would like some support then please get in touch for a FREE consultation (I do currently have a waiting list but sessions become available relatively quickly)

Thanks
