Anaphylaxis UK and Allergy UK today announce their intention to merge on the 1st of October, uniting to better serve the millions of people across the UK living with allergy and anaphylaxis - many of whom face daily uncertainty, risk, and barriers to the care and understanding they need.
This decision builds on more than 30 years of close collaboration, driven by a shared commitment to putting people first. Most recently, this has been demonstrated through the work to develop the National Allergy Strategy (NAS), demonstrating how working together can create real momentum for change.
By formally coming together, the organisations will strengthen their ability to listen to, support, and advocate for the allergy community. This is not about becoming bigger for its own sake, but about becoming stronger, bringing together expertise, insight, and experience to improve lives, influence policy, and ensure people feel safer, better supported, and heard.
With allergy now affecting a growing number of families across the UK, the need for clear leadership and coordinated action has never been greater. The merged organisation will work to a single, shared set of objectives focused on improving care, raising awareness, and driving the systemic change needed to reduce risk and improve outcomes.
At its heart, this merger is about people, ensuring that no one facing the challenges of allergy or anaphylaxis feels alone, and that the care, safety, and recognition they deserve are firmly on the national agenda.
