S Carter & Son began as a small, local building and undertaking business. Over time, it has evolved into a well-loved and respected independent funeral directors that is known throughout the community for reliability and genuine family values.
In 1984, Michael took over the running of the business, following the passing of his father, Gordon. With decades of experience, he remains closely involved in the day-to-day work, ensuring that the standards set by earlier generations continue.
His daughter, Sarah, joined the company in 1997 and now manages the office, supports families in making arrangements, and personally conducts funeral services alongside Darren and Andrew, who are both long-standing and valued members of the team.
Laura joined the family business in 2023, her role includes supporting families, assisting with arrangements and helping with the day-to-day running of the office.
Today, the company is run by the fourth and fifth generations of the Carter family. Together, Michael and Sarah along with a very dedicated support team, continue a tradition of professionalism, rooted in a genuine care for the community that they serve 🕊️
