Happy Birthday to Liverpool! 🎈🎂 819!
On this day in 1207, King John granted a royal charter that officially founded the borough of Liverpool. What started over eight centuries ago as a tiny fishing village built around just seven original streets (Dale, Castle, Chapel, Tithebarn, Water, Old Hall, and High Street) grew into a global powerhouse of trade, culture, maritime history, and world-changing innovation.
Over the centuries, that growth extended well beyond those original borders, forging deep connections across the region. Today, across the broader Liverpool City Region, Liverpool’s rich history stands alongside the distinct identities and proud roots of surrounding communities. From South Liverpool and Knowsley across to Widnes, Runcorn, and Cheshire, our entire area has always been defined by one constant: resilience.
At UCAN Stroke Rehab, that same spirit of strength and determination drives everything we do. Rebuilding movement, confidence, and independence after a stroke is a step-by-step journey, and we are dedicated to bringing high-quality rehabilitation out into our communities.
We provide support across South Liverpool, Knowsley, Widnes, Runcorn, and surrounding areas through three key options:
🏋️ CrossFit Widnes (Mondays): We hold focused rehab sessions at the gym, utilizing specialized equipment and a supportive space to rebuild mobility, balance, and physical strength.
🤝 Community Workshops in Cronton: Located in Knowsley right on the doorstep of Widnes in Halton borough, our Cronton sessions bring survivors and families together for group rehab, specialized therapy tech, and peer support.
We are here every 4th Friday!
🚗 Scheduled Home Visits: We travel directly to your doorstep so you can receive tailored stroke recovery right in your living room.
Whether in the gym, at our community sessions, or at home, we are proud to stand alongside stroke survivors and their families right across our region every step of the way. 💙💪
