Before I walked through the coats into the Narnia of Tropic, I thought I’d simply found the best skincare for my massage clients
I bought my Ambassador Kit because I wanted incredible, natural products I could trust and confidently recommend.
I knew nothing about the opportunity waiting on the other side of those coats.
I wasn’t looking for another business, certainly wasn’t looking to lead a team but then one day I got curious…
I said to my mentor, Mia, “I feel like I’m missing something that everyone seems to know” she smiled took me by the hand and led me out of the wardrobe into the world of Tropic!
What I didn’t expect to find wasn’t just another income stream
I found not the Mum, the Wife, the default parent, the organiser, the one everyone relies on
I found Laura
My biggest gift so far hasn’t been skincare or even the business
It’s been worth
I bought the products for my clients, but it took me nearly 3 months to use them on myself because, deep down, I didn’t feel worthy of them
Looking back… that says it all
For so much of my life I’ve measured my worth by how useful I can be to everyone else. I’m the one carrying spare hair bobbles or tissues.
I even carried spare nappies to the park just in case another mum got caught short.
If I was helping, fixing, rescuing or supporting, then I felt valuable.
But when you spend your life pouring into everyone else, eventually there’s hardly anything left in your own cup.
Last Sunday, just 7 days ago, I found myself standing at the lamppost, looking back towards the wardrobe.
Convinced I wasn’t worthy… again
Wondering if maybe this Narnia simply wasn’t meant for me after all
I was tired, overwhelmed, frustrated with myself. Trying to build from desperation instead of belief.
Then something shifted…
An honest conversation with a true friend I met through Tropic (Amanda Rayworth-Kiernan)
An emotional conversation with my husband about the life we’re trying to create together.
The realisation that I don’t have to carry everything on my own anymore
For the first time, he isn’t just supporting what I do…
He sees the vision too ♥️
Tropic has given me incredible mentors, lifelong friendships and opportunities I never imagined.
But more importantly, it’s helping me become someone who knows her value and it isn’t based on how much she does for everyone else
It’s based on who she already is.
I’m still learning.
I’m still growing.
I’m just getting started…
And now, I want to help other women realise they don’t have to choose between looking after everyone else and believing in themselves.
Sometimes saying yes to an opportunity isn’t about changing your career, sometimes it’s about finding yourself again ♥️
It’s quite funny actually…
I thought I was stepping through a wardrobe to find better skincare for my clients
Turns out, I was stepping through it to find Laura
Now I know the wardrobe wasn’t the destination…It was just the doorway
The real magic has always been what was waiting on the other side.
