Do us a favour?
Stop what you're doing and have a look at the world.

Had a glorious weekend in scorching London with my girl.
Met up with our very beloved friend yesterday.
Had an absolute wealth of cultural adventure.

My lovely pal stopped me a number of times yesterday, not for any particular reason, just so she could say to me (and I could hear her say)
"aren't we lucky?"

We are.
The world is a beautiful place.
And if you have even one friend who feels lucky to have you (and you them) you have all the real riches.

Just wanted to remind you.

I'm sending love xx

In grief you are vulnerable.
This is unavoidable.
But there are things you can do to prepare in advance which will make your vulnerability more manageable when the time comes.

Hey, so this morning was our (Dead Positive's) bereavement cafe. We had a great chat about crying and all of the good it does us.

So many of us aren't aware of the physiological benefits of crying- it is genuinely good for us.

One of our lovely attendees mentioned how much her and her friends loved a good cry when they were teenagers. How it was one of their measures of a good film. How they'd use this as one of their focuses when recommending films to one another.

If you ever feel like a good cry can I recommend epidode one of BBC's Ann Droid?
Cried my leg off.
Such a beautiful encapsulation of the absolute core of human life.
Watch it.
Marvel at the human condition.
Be grateful.
Have a rampant skrike.
Feel lighter.

Friday morning glimmer anyone?

It's possible that this flower was naturally uprooted and just travelled on the wind to my back door.

It's far more likely, as I'm sure you'll agree, that our cat Marlene Dietrich Atherton (aka Lena aaka Lena Babbarina) carefully selected it when out on overnight manoeuvres and then lovingly brought it home with her in her little chops to deliver to us as a thank you for all the love and cuddles.

Glad we've sorted that.

(ps image of Lena from some weeks back, she was embarrassed by her generous gesture this morning and therefore too aloof to be used as clickbait today)

Absolutely gorgeous evening of community, solidarity and love for our Peace St Helens gathering this evening.
This time we hollered at Reform without eveningwear or wine.
Was just as satisfying.
Strange how their policies are so homophobic when their shiny turquoise ties are so flamboyant 🤔

Ey up kids.
Turns out we now live in a Mediterranean climate. I'm practicing gratitude for it to drown out the existential inevitably of what that eventually means.

On another note.......
in spite of melting
played a blinder by managing to serve nails fitting for both this week's funerals .......Weds was all about the favourite colour and yesterday was full on nautical (not an anchor in sight, just a flash of leg - well, te****le).

Also here showing off my bell.
Bought last week in a Northumbrian chazza and used in yesterday's funeral to mark the 8 half hours of a First Officer's watch.

I love doing but nothing beats getting to do the day job for gorgeous people.

Next funeral is for people I know and love, which adds a whole other emotional dimension.
Blessed, as always, to feel all the feels.

Stay hydrated you beautiful earthlings.
Sending love xx
