First steps is hard but worth it:

I am always amazed at the strength and courage my clients have when taking their first steps into counselling, to being vulnerable and trusting me with your innermost thoughts and feelings and being there myself I understand just how hard the first step can be, but my step was worth it and allowed me to challenge and make sense of my inner most thoughts and empowered me to become a counsellor and then a supervisor located in Widnes, to which I absolutely love and is what I am passionate about. I feel honoured and extremely privileged to be here to support you in creating changes in your lives for the better, while witnessing your personal growth through our time together.

What to expect from professional counselling:

Understanding what to expect during your first session can help you feel more prepared and ease any nervousness before your appointment. Whether you reach out by phone, email, or the contact form, the first step is a FREE telephone consultation. During this call we'll discuss your specific needs and arrange your initial first appointment. In a safe and welcoming environment, your first session will include reviewing a contract, confidentiality agreement, as well as gaining a deeper understanding of your needs. This session also gives you the chance to experience working together, and by the end, you can decide whether to continue with more sessions, pause or take some time to reflect before making a decision.

Working together:

During our time together, I will work with warmth and sensitivity, using a non-directive approach that offers empathy, unconditional positive regard and authenticity. In doing so, I provide a supportive, confidential and peaceful environment designed to foster a trusting relationship that will, in turn, help you feel safe and accepted. Throughout our work, you will have the time and space to explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours freely. As an integrative counsellor, I may also incorporate a range of techniques tailored to support your unique needs, helping you move forward in a positive and healthier way at your own pace. Above all, remember that the counselling sessions are your time to explore any issues you choose to share within a safe and confidential space. But above all I want you to feel safe, heard, supported and understood.

If you would like to book in and see how we would work together, please give me a call on 07894212715 or email me on [email protected]

Getting to know your counsellor and supervisor:

When I’m not a counsellor or supervisor. I am a wife and mum of 2 grown men, and mummy to Bear our dog and Speedy our tortoise. Currently I live with chronic illnesses, and understand just how hard it can be to live with these conditions. I love all things pink and glittery and my favourite time is being with my family and lunching with friends.

Before I became a counsellor I spent time serving in the Royal Navy on board HMS Alderney. Upon leaving I worked with young children across various establishments and I completed 400+ hours volunteering as a support worker. I then hit a few bumps in the road, and in my most darkest of times I sought counselling for support.

Accessing counselling to understand my own difficult life experiences. Working through my past traumas, depression, anxiety and stress, amongst other things. Having an understanding just how difficult it was making sense of my thoughts, feelings and emotions. Counselling supported me in making positive changes and gaining insight into myself awareness.

Attending to my own needs, gave me a drive, a realisation of how passionate I was about becoming a counsellor. Inspiring me to support you through your very own life struggles and dark times. Counselling literally changed my life. It was from this I embarked on my journey to becoming a qualified counsellor and supervisor. I am proud of where I am in life and I will always be open and honest with my clients when appropriate.

My experience:

As well as running my private practice as a counsellor and supervisor. I have gained lots of experience supporting adults and young people with various life struggles and experiences. Such as: Anxiety and depression, grief and loss, low confidence and self-esteem, feelings of being stuck, past experiences, stress, negative, thoughts, feelings and challenging behaviours.

I also currently work as the Office Manager and therapist of a private clinical practice. Overseeing various projects and supporting other therapists currently completing some freelance work, I am also the designated safeguarding Lead to the therapists. I also work as a freelance to 2 major EAP’s working with adults up and down the country.

I have also gained 10 years experience working for a mental health charity Mind Halton as the counselling lead and therapist, successfully managing around 30 counsellors both qualified and students. As well as gaining more experience supporting adults with various life difficulties with a focus on men’s mental health. And I currently attend the health and social department at our local College speaking to groups of students about my journey and my struggles with mental health.

I offer a FREE telephone consultation, so if you would like to book in and see how we would work together, please give me a call on 07894212715 or email me on [email protected] 🩷💚

Working together:

Hi, I’m Vicki, an integrative counsellor and supervisor with over 10 years of experience working in Widnes. Over the years, I have supported individuals facing a wide range of emotional and psychological challenges. Including anxiety, depression, grief and loss, feelings of being stuck, low confidence and self-esteem and negative thoughts, feelings and challenging behaviours. And through this experience, I have developed a deeper understanding of the challenges you face.

At the heart of my work, my mission is to provide a warm and compassionate counselling and supervision service that fosters personal growth and emotional well-being. Furthermore, my approach creates a safe, supportive, and confidential environment where you can feel truly heard. Together, we can explore your challenges at your own pace. Building self-awareness, resilience and emotional well-being, and in time, work towards achieving meaningful and lasting positive change. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, stress, low mood, or life changes, I am here to support you.

Finding the right support for you can make all the difference, and as an integrative counsellor, I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. Instead, I am here to walk alongside you, adapting my way of working to meet your individual needs. From the very beginning, you will be listened to, accepted, and respected. In turn, I will support you in working through any challenges you may be experiencing, while ensuring we move at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

Professional counselling and clinical supervision sessions are available by:
• In person sessions if you live in Widnes or nearby.
• Or online via a secure video, allowing you to access support from anywhere in the UK, or if you have time constraints this allows you to access counselling.
• And additionally I can accommodate home visits, this being available to individuals who would struggle for in person appointments and online.

I offer a FREE telephone consultation, so if you would like to book in and see how we would work together, please give me a call on 07894212715 or email me on [email protected] 🩷💚
