We’d like to thank the brilliant Ash from Therapeutic Space with Ash for running some wonderful sessions throughout the summer
Her page is definitely worth a follow for therapeutic strategies and advice

Ash said “The Holiday Programme has got off to an incredible start!! We’ve had our two summer sessions where we’ve learned all about our brain, about our Guard Dog, Wise Owl and Memory Elephant. We’ve learned lots of strategies already about how to notice these feelings in our body and allow to calm our Guard Dog.

We had some beautiful comments from the session today…
💛 I never talk to anyone and I’ve not stopped today!
💛 I feel safe here
💛 I don’t open up about my worries but I can here
💛 I love how calm I feel here
💛 I enjoy being about to be creative
💛 I felt nervous at first but I can’t wait for next time ✨

Looking forward to the October sessions already!!!”

We’ve been asked to spread the word about this charity golf day 🌟

Thursday 3rd September at Dean Wood Golf Club, Up Holland

The day is open to golfers of all abilities. Whether you play every week or haven’t touched the clubs in years, it’s intended to be a relaxed and enjoyable opportunity to meet people, do a bit of networking and, most importantly, raise some much-needed funds to support our work with older people across Wigan Borough.

The day includes:

18 holes – Texas Scramble
Breakfast barm, tea and coffee
Prizes
Evening meal

£60 per person

People can enter as a four-ball or come along individually and they will happily make up teams, a great way to meet some new contacts.

One of the commitments we made to the young people who were participants in our young people’s survey was to develop a SENDIASS advisory group made up of of young people

Kellie Williams ( SEND Service lead ) met with the group recently . She fed back the LA’s response to the education report. We had a great meeting !

🌟Join us for the launch of GPS🌟

Come along to St Peter’s Pavilion, Hindley, as we introduce GPS—a new service supporting families across the Wigan Borough.
Delivered by Embrace, GPS is a needs-led service, meaning families won't need to have a diagnosis to access support. We will offer practical guidance, useful information, training workshops, support sessions and events and connect families directly with other support on offer in the borough. Families will not need a diagnosis to access the service.
The name GPS stands for "Guided & Personalised Support" and was chosen by young people who felt they wanted something that reflected what the service will do—help families find their way—without using any medical language or diagnostic labels in it's name.
At the launch, you can meet the team, find out how GPS will work and share your ideas.
Your experiences will help us shape a service that works for local families.
