It’s easy to doubt that energy circles back when we see people who seem disingenuous rise to power, wealth, or influence. We wonder why the Universe would reward behavior that lacks integrity. But what looks like a reward from the outside could be a heavy burden on the inside. Sometimes what glitters isn’t gold. It’s pressure, emptiness, or a spiritual tax waiting to be paid.

People who believe “good people finish last” usually misunderstand the timeline of consequence. They see someone lie and get ahead, and assume dishonesty wins. They watch someone manipulate and prosper and conclude that integrity is pointless.

But they’re missing the deeper currents of consequence. The person who got ahead through deception may achieve temporary success, but they’ll struggle to maintain relationships built on false foundations. Meanwhile, the person who operates with genuine integrity builds a life of authentic connections, sustainable success, and inner peace that no external achievement can provide.

And we don’t always see the full picture. We don’t know what someone carries or what good they’ve quietly done. We also don’t always see the cost of what they’ve gained.

Honestly, everyone has goodness at their core. But many people have been conditioned away from their natural center, that space within where love flows effortlessly. Wounds, upbringing, fears, and societal programming can twist intentions. People aren’t born manipulative; they become disconnected.

That’s why the focus must return to us. Sometimes, our own energy isn’t as pure as we think. We act kindly, but it’s performative. We give, but with an agenda. We become ritualistic and preach positivity, but secretly we’re trying to manipulate the Universe to give us what we want, rather than aligning ourselves energetically.

And, when your heart is in the right place, the things that miss you were never aligned in the first place.
