π©· If you've been through the menopause and then notice a little unexpected bleeding, it's completely natural to think it's probably nothing.
Even a pink or brown smudge you weren't expecting can make you want to just wait and see.
But here's the gentle, honest truth: any bleeding after the menopause should always be checked.
That's more than a year since your last period, if you're over 50.
Even if it's only happened once. Even if it's just a spot. Even if you're not sure it was blood. π
And here's the reassuring part β most of the time, it isn't cancer. πΏ
There are common and harmless causes, and we talk you through them in the video.
But there's one important reason we'd always rather see you β and that's the heart of this one. π¬
Please don't feel embarrassed. It's one of the most common reasons women come in, and it's nothing your GP hasn't heard before.
On HRT and the bleeding is unexpected, or carrying on past 6 months? Get that checked too. π
Bleeding after the menopause is never a wait-and-see. π
