In Traditional Chinese Medicine, cold drinks are more than just refreshing — they can disrupt your internal balance. The digestive system, particularly the Spleen and Stomach, is thought to thrive on warmth. When we regularly consume iced drinks, the body has to use extra energy to warm them before digestion can begin. Over time, this may weaken digestive Qi and contribute to symptoms such as bloating, loose stools, fatigue, sluggish digestion and even reduced energy levels.

What we drink is just as important as what we eat. Swapping iced drinks for warm water, herbal teas or room-temperature drinks can be a simple but powerful way to support your digestion and overall wellbeing. Many people notice improvements in bloating, energy and gut comfort with this small change.

If your digestion feels out of balance, you’re struggling with bloating, IBS, constipation, fatigue or simply don’t feel your best, book in for a health review, acupuncture and personalised nutritional guidance. Together we can uncover the root cause and support your body back towards balance.

“This is based on Traditional Chinese Medicine principles. If you have ongoing digestive symptoms, it’s important to seek advice from your GP or healthcare professional.”

A small handful of mixed nuts each day can be a simple way to support your overall health and wellbeing. Rich in healthy fats, protein, fibre, vitamins and minerals, they’re the perfect addition to your breakfast, an afternoon energy boost, or an easy snack to keep on hand when you’re on the go. Small daily habits really do add up.

Most people associate acupuncture with back pain and yes, it can be incredibly effective for musculoskeletal issues. But that’s only scratching the surface.

As a Traditional Chinese Medicine acupuncturist, I see the body as a whole. Sleep, digestion, hormones, emotions, immunity, energy and pain are all connected, and treatment is tailored to the individual sitting in front of me.

It’s one of the reasons I love what I do. Every treatment is different because every person is different.

Have you ever considered acupuncture for something other than pain?

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the face can offer valuable clues about what may be happening inside the body. During a consultation, I often observe the colour, texture, tone and overall appearance of the face, looking for signs of excess, deficiency, stagnation or imbalance. Different areas of the face are thought to reflect different organ systems, helping to build a picture alongside your symptoms, tongue diagnosis and pulse. It’s never about diagnosing from the face alone, but rather gathering gentle clues that help guide treatment and support the body back towards balance.

Inflammation is a word we hear often, but it doesn’t always look the way people expect.

In clinic, I see it show up in many different ways — from painful periods and endometriosis to IBS, chronic fatigue, ME, skin conditions and ongoing aches and pains.

While these conditions may seem completely unrelated, they often share common threads: a body that feels overwhelmed, exhausted, inflamed or stuck in a cycle of stress and symptoms.

Through a Traditional Chinese Medicine approach, I look at the whole picture. Sleep, digestion, energy, stress levels, circulation, lifestyle and diet all help build a picture of what’s happening beneath the surface.

Acupuncture isn’t about chasing symptoms. It’s about supporting your body’s ability to find balance and helping you feel more like yourself again.

What symptoms do you notice when your body feels overwhelmed?

These little black seeds are pure magic! I sprinkle them on everything- my veggies, fish, chicken, salads - you name it. They even sneak into my protein balls for an extra boost. Nutty, nourishing and packed with ancient wisdom, black sesame seeds are my tiny powerhouse in the kitchen.

When people think about acupuncture, they often think about the needles.

But one of the most valuable parts of any appointment happens before a single needle is used.

I spend time listening to your story, understanding your health concerns and learning about the things that may be influencing your wellbeing — from sleep and digestion to stress, energy levels and emotions.

Traditional Chinese Medicine takes a holistic approach. Alongside listening, observation plays an important role. We look at things such as your tongue, complexion, posture and overall presentation to help build a picture of what’s happening beneath the surface.

These observations, combined with detailed questions and pulse diagnosis, help guide a treatment plan that is tailored specifically to you.
