THE GARDENING CLUB IS BACK AT IT🌱

With the weather starting to change, our Gardening Club decided it was the perfect time to roll up our sleeves and give our garden a little TLC🌷

There was plenty to do: sweeping, tidying and getting our garden furniture looking lovely and ready for those cosy autumn days!

We decided it was finally time to create our very own little herb garden! Our herbs will be perfect for our Cooking Club, giving us fresh ingredients we can use in the kitchen to add a little extra flavour to our delicious meals😋

We take such pride in caring for the garden, and it’s wonderful to see everyone getting involved and helping to create a beautiful, welcoming sensory space where we can sit, relax and enjoy a cuppa together☕

ALPACA ADVENTURES CAME TO VISIT🦙

We were alpaca-lutely thrilled to welcome Wendy from Alpaca Adventures to our home, along with two very special guests… the lovely Liquorice & Caramac🥰

We absolutely loved meeting these two gentle souls and having them visit right here in the home. There were plenty of smiles, cuddles and wonderful memories made!

Liquorice and Caramac were so calm and well-behaved, making them the perfect visitors. They even enjoyed meeting some of our residents’ visiting family and friends, who couldn’t resist stopping for a cuddle♥️

It was such a special day and one we’ll certainly be talking about for a long time to come😆

A huge thank you to Alpaca Adventures for bringing Liquorice & Caramac along and helping us create such a perfect and memorable experience✨

A HUGE congratulations to Ruby, one of our carers, on successfully passing her 1st Year T Level in Health & Social Care💪

Gardening Club in Full Bloom🌷

A gardener’s work is never truly done… but that’s all part of the fun!

Our wonderful Gardening Club team have been busy getting stuck in and preparing for even more colour in our lovely garden💪

We’ve planted our little seedlings of sweet peas and lupins, and our pepper plants have had a little upgrade too - they’ve now moved into bigger pots to give them plenty of room to grow🪴

Next week, we’re planning to create our very own little herb garden!
We can’t wait to watch everything grow and bring even more colour, scent and life into the garden😆

Cooking Club: Ginger Biscuit Fun😋

What better way to spend our Cooking Club than making something we absolutely love!

After a lovely chat with everyone, Tammy discovered that she and Elizabeth share a real passion for ginger biscuits. So, of course, we just had to put our aprons on and get baking👨‍🍳

With a little help from our Head Chef, we followed a delicious recipe, carefully measuring out the ingredients, mixing everything and creating a lovely biscuit dough🍪

There was plenty of teamwork, smiles and, of course, a little anticipation while waiting for the biscuits to be ready!

A Lovely Afternoon at Upton Country Park😆

As the temperatures begin to cool, we took the opportunity to hop on our minibus and enjoy a lovely afternoon out at Upton Country Park🌳

With the sunshine still shining, we enjoyed a gentle stroll around the beautiful gardens, taking in the flowers and chatting with staff and others along the way. There was plenty of lovely conversation about the different flowers and the beautiful surroundings🌷

Of course, no afternoon out is complete without a little refreshment! We finished our walk with a lovely cup of tea in the café, the perfect way to end the afternoon☕

It was wonderful to see everyone enjoying the fresh air, good company and a change of scenery!

Love to Move Dorset with Katie💪

It’s one of our favourite activities - and it’s easy to see why!

Katie brings plenty of movement and exercise to help keep our bodies supple, active and moving, but that’s not all… she gives our brains a workout too🧠

There are smiles, laughter, movement and a few little challenges along the way. It’s a wonderful way to get everyone moving whilst having lots of fun together😆

Craft Club – A Little Bit of Nature, A Lot of Creativity🧑‍🎨

Here at Wimborne Manor, Tammy loves finding new and interesting crafts for our residents to try, experiment with and, most importantly, enjoy!

This week, we took our inspiration from nature and created some beautiful butterflies using leaves🦋

We painted the leaves with acrylic paint in all sorts of colours and designs. Then came the exciting part… we carefully pressed the leaves face down onto the paper and lifted them away to reveal our butterfly wings😆

We added the butterfly bodies, and just like magic, our little creations came to life♥️

Sometimes the simplest ideas can create the most beautiful results, and it was lovely to see everyone enjoying the process, having a go and sharing their creativity🎨

Let the word games begin!

We love a good word game here at Wimborne - not only do they get our minds thinking, but they’re also a great way to test our spelling🧠

This week, we introduced a new game to our word-game repertoire… BOGGLE😆

What a fantastic game it was! Our minds were certainly put to work as we searched for as many words as we could find. It was so interesting to see how many different words everyone spotted and, of course, there was plenty of friendly competition along the way💪

With lots of refreshments and a few delicious slices of cake, we had a lovely time playing together, sharing laughs and discovering just how many words we could make🍰
